Legend

Frisk's POV:

"Long ago, two races ruled over earth. Humans and monsters.

One day, war broke out between the two races.

In the end, the humans were victorious.

They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.

Many years later...

Those who climb Mt. Ebott never returns."

I've heard of this legend already.

Being a kid, my mom used to read it to me and my older twin sister.

But those memories are long forgotten.

My mother and father divorced, my mother left and never seen again, my dad being too rough on my sister, then she ran away.

Ever since then, it's just me and dad.

One day though, when I was twelve, both our lives changed. My father met another woman of his dreams.

That woman is a single mother who has a daughter and both she and her daughter are kind and beautiful.

My father and she then married and she became my stepmother and her daughter being my eleven-year-old stepsister, Katherine.

At first, I was rude to her. I bully her a lot.

But for some reason, she never reports to my parents about it. In fact, she didn't even fight back at me.

The more I bullied and the more she pitied, I became more and more guilty.

"Why do you not fight back? Why do you not tell anyone?" I ask her once.

She smiled and replied, "Why would I tell on someone who is as sweet as you?"

Since then, we became close. I stopped bullying her. The four of us were happy and content.

Three years later...

Katherine's POV:

My stepbrother and I, one night, went to a mountain to play a game of hide and seek.

Its Frisk's turn to hide while I count to ten.

"Ready or not, here I come!!" I yell.

I was running around the mountain when suddenly I hear my stepbrother's scream.

"Frisk?! Where are you?!" I ask.

*There's no response.

*Someone comes up from behind you.

"Katherine." Says my stepfather.

"Stepdad! I can't find Frisk!" I cry.

"Then he's gone." He sighs, as if this happened before. "He's not coming back. The legends are true. We should go back, before we're gone, too."

What does he mean by the legends are true? "But stepdad..."

He grabs my wrist and starts walking. "No buts."

I walk along with his and look at the ground. "Okay."

Frisk's POV (When Katherine was counting to ten):

"Ready or not, here I come!!" My stepsister yells.

I chuckle as I run around the mountain.

My legs soon start to hurt from the running.

I look forward and I see a cave. I enter it and the next step...

I fall.

Then I land unconscious.
