Sans' POV:

i heard the barrier's finally broken.

but i'm afraid of what the humans think.

especially when paps decided to wage war against them.

i sneak on humans to see what they think.

they said they would have war indeed.

like the last war, i'm pretty sure monsters would lose.

not only humans have technology and stuffs like that, but monsters became even fewer than before.

there's no way paps would survive.

unless...

i could change everything.

i go over to the judgment hall.

the humans had started to invade the underground, where all the monsters are right now.

all of them evacuated to new home.

papyrus is in the castle.

suddenly i see him running through the judgment hall.

then he stopped short, not seeing me, not knowing what to do.

i stretch my arm and grab him by the scarf and pulled him towards me.

"S-SANS?!" my brother looked shocked.

"paps... you have to go with all the other monsters." i instruct.

"I'M NOT TAKING ADVICE FROM A TRAITOR, SANS." he says. "THIS IS WHY I NEVER TRUST YOU WITH PROMISES."

i say, breaking into tears. "i told you i hate making promises, i know. but paps... i said to you and to myself that i'd protect you, no matter the consequences." i take off my jacket.

"S-SANS...?" he says softly.

"here. just lend me your crown. i'm taking your place. humans want a war. but i refuse to let you fight and die in it."

"BUT SANS..." he starts crying.

"papyrus... i love you. no matter what happens... i'll always be with you, near or far, alive or dead, just keep smiling for me." i take his crown and cover his shoulders with my jacket.

"BUT SANS... WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU...?" he asks.

i stay silent for a while then smiled and say, "it doesn't matter."

my brother shouts, eyes filled with tears. "YES IT DOES MATTER!"

i say, "you need to go, before the humans come."

he hugs me and cries. "I LOVE YOU TOO, SANS."

i hug back tightly for a while.

"hey, keep this for me." i give him a small jar with a note inside it.

he holds it as i smile and say, "just keep smiling." and teleported him away with all the other monsters.

you are now a runaway and i'm the monsters' king.

separated by fate, it's quite a sorrowful scene.

because i am the true one who killed those humans...

none of that is your doing, i hope you understand.
