Purgatory

Sans' POV:

when i finally awoke, i saw i was alone.

i was in a room where no sunlight had shone.

i was unable to see, i was unable to hear.

i was the only one there, trembling in fear.

when i looked carefully, i still was able to see.

there was an unclear large screen right in front of me.

from ahead suddenly, a voice came to me. i heard an uncertain and eerie messeji.

"Sinful child, this is all of your fault, you shall rue and regret this for all eternity. You and your sins shall never leave this room again." it said.

*Suddenly, the memories started flooding back!

all at once, i remembered all the memories from long ago.

when i performed my sins without any humanity or mercy.

and when i became aware of the reason that i am here, i prayed that i never return to that time again.

i noticed that both my hands are locked within handcuffs of red, surely they're the color of crimson blood that someone had shed.

i noticed that both my feet are locked within these chains of green, surely they're the color of a tiny flower in the scene.

"LU LI LA, LU LI LA" i can hear the song that someone sings.

but who seems to be singing this lullaby of hope for me...?

"can you tell me how much time has passed?" i ask of the unclear screen that is in front of me.

but yet still i can hear a voice so pure and clear, a voice singing simply to heal me of my fears.

and on the day i found, after drifting through time, the true meaning behind the words of the melody...

this lullaby of mine, had a new and different rhyme, these new words have changed the meaning of this song this time.

suddenly, the screen in front of me started to become more clearer.

there, i see a beach. my brother was there, crying in the sand.

it was night time.

oh no... the human is there.

i could see he has a knife.

oh no... he's going to kill him...!

i swore to him i'd always protect him...!

"hey! anyone there?!" i cry in the room i am trapped in. "please! i need to save my brother! i know i don't deserve forgiveness, but let me save him one last time, please!"

suddenly, there was a bright light, that descended upon me.

i touch it. then everything went white.

soon, i find myself in the beach.

the human is about to kill papyrus.

no...!

with determination, i quickly hug my brother.

the human's eyes widen and backed away.

my brother also looked shocked to see me.

"BROTHER...?" papyrus asks, wide-eyed filled with tears.

"somehow in our next life, if we ever meet again, let us play together once more, and be the best of friends." i tell him before i let go.

then i disappear.

Frisk's POV:

Was that Sans...?!

I backed away.

Soon, Papyrus looked behind him, to me.

I quickly hid the knife in my pocket before he could see it.

"FRISK?" Papyrus asks. "WHAT... WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE...?"

I come up with a fake answer. "I... Um... Woke up and saw you leaving the house. I got worried, so I followed you."

"OH." Papyrus looks away. "WELL... THANKS FOR CARING ABOUT ME. I DID SO MUCH SELFISH THINGS. I'M NOT TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT."

"Ah, don't be like that. I felt so lonely, even with Flowey. So..." I say, "I'm glad you're my friend."

He smiles sadly. "YOU'RE WELCOME."

"Come on," I say, "It's really late. We should go sleep."

"YOU'RE RIGHT. LET'S GO BACK." He and I go back to the house.

He went to sleep while I'm still awake in my room.

I open up the menu.

There are the buttons Continue and Reset.

I can't blame him. Katherine's death, Sans' death...

Was my fault.

If only I hadn't killed everyone... All this would be different.

Filled with Determination, I click Reset.
