Chapter 2

An: Contain some Pilipino words

Still marry you

"Good bye Jen! See you tomorrow!" my groups of friends wave their hands as they bid their goodbyes

"Bye!" I waved back at them

My smile faded when I saw their own drivers opened the car's door for them, I started to walk away from our school with my heavy backpack in my bag and some thick random science book I'm carrying. I grab some biscuit in the pocket of my school uniform and started to eat it. I looked at the sun that almost setting behind the thick line of trees planted in the cemented highway, several cars passing by and students started to walk their way on their home, I am one of them

I took a look at my watch and realized it's almost six in the evening already

"Shit" I cussed and walk even faster.

After a 15 minutes' walk, I am once again welcomed by a familiar sight I got used to seeing since I was a child

"Oh Jennie! Nandito kana pala! (Oh Jennie! You're here already!)" shouted Aling Coring and puffed the cigarrete in her mouth

I just nodded my head and tried to avoid all the topless old gents puffing and chugging some unknown beers on their own table in front of our house

"Excuse me po" I excused (Po is Pilipino word that is used to show respect to the elders)

"Habang tumatagal gumaganda itong anak ni Pedro! Naku Jennie, kung ako sayo sumali ka sa mga beauty o pageant contest para magkapera kayo! "(Pedro's daughter is getting more pretty nowadays! Jennie, if I were you, I would join in a beauty or pageant contest to earn money!) shouted Manong Juan while drinking his beer

"Oo nga! Sayang naman ang ganda mong pang Koreana iha kung hindi mo ibabalandra! Naku ewan nga kay Pedro bakit hindi ka niya hinayaan ni minsan (I agree! You're Korean beauty will go into waste if you will not show it off! I wonder why Pedro didn't even let you once) " seconded Manong Tiborcio and eyed me from head to toe, his malicious stares bluntly landed on my chest

I covered them with the thick book I borrowed from our school library.

Aling Coring then noticed him staring at me and immediately smack his head "Potangina Coring! (The fuck Coring!)" he shouted

"Ayan ka na naman Tibor! Naku itigil mo yan kundi malilintikan ka kay Pedro! (There you go again Tibor! You better stop that if you don't want Pedro to mess with you!)"

Aling Coring puffed her cigar near my face, making me cover my nose

"Oo ng iha, bakit di mo subukang sumali?(Why don't you try?)

"Ah ayaw ko naman pong sumali(Ah I don't want to enter either)" I said before I passed on their table and started to walk towards our house behind them

I just sighed heavily, in everyday in my 19 years of existing, the people here in our small province in Jeju never gets tired of saying those things like that to me. I don't know, they find me a gem for I am the daughter of the known Filipino goon Pedro Kim.

All of the residences here in our place are all Filipino's. Well except for me who is a half-blood Korean because of my Korean mother who my father called as a "Manloloko" or a cheater for leaving us with another man long years ago. I never got the chance to see her even once, whenever I ask my father about her, he would rather shut me up using cursed words or ended up being drunk the whole day.
