Hi

After 4 years

“Mommy mommy wake up wake up! Lily is going to schooooollll!” I slowly open my eyes as I felt a small little hand cupping my both cheeks and soft lips kissing the bridge of my nose “Just a little bit baby, let mommy sleep for five more minutes” I hummed

“But mooooommmmy!” she shakes my arms this time “Today is Lily’s school day! Lily will go to school! Wake up moommmy.”

I groaned “Lily just five more minutes, mommy is tired. Let mommy rest”

“No wake up wake up!” she shouts and slaps my cheeks this time

I get up “Okay okay! Mommy is awake” I rub my eyes as I smiled at the sight of my little one pouting her plump lips towards me while crossing her arms

I let out a soft laugh and bring her towards me “Aw don’t be mad at mommy, let’s go and cook your favourite meal?”

Her pouting plump lips immediately form a sweet smile and she suddenly jumps over me, bringing her whole body in my arms while she’s wrapping her cute little hands around my neck.  I showered her kisses in her cheeks while tickling her sides, making her giggle in my neck “Ticklish ticklish! Mommy stop!”

I stopped and kiss her nose “That’s for slapping mommy in her cheeks”

She pouted again while showing her famous puppy face “It’s because mommy won’t wake up, Lily is going to school and I didn’t eat my breakfast yet, I’m hungrryy mommy” she caressed her tummy and pouted even more

Aww, she’s so cute

“Okay mommy will cook Lily’s favourite meal!” I cheered while carrying her in my arms, I placed Lily in her seat in our mini dining table while I prepared her breakfast meal in our kitchen.

Soon enough, I heard a car engine parked outside our house, making Lily jumps on her seat and hurriedly runs towards our front door

“Uncle Akin!” she shouted and soon enough, Joaquin’s laughs and Lily’s giggles echoed in my house.

I served Lily’s cereal in our table. I smiled when the tall Joaquin kissing my daughter’s cheeks giggling in his arms entered the small room.

He placed Lily in her seat before he went to me, smelling the soup I just made and leaned in our kitchen. “You had a gig last night? Lily said you are tired and didn’t wake up early this morning” he stated and tuck some strands of my hair behind my ear.

I nod “Yes, the village chief invited me to sing for the activity last night and the pay was quite big, I can’t miss such an opportunity like that Joaquin" I said before I placed the bowl of soup in the table, Joaquin followed

“Have you eaten already? Let’s eat”

“Uncle Akin come eat with Lily!” Lily jumps on her seat and grabs Joaquin’s hands

“All right little girl, uncle will sit next to you” he chuckled before he settled beside Lily. My daughter then opens her mouth wide for him “Ahhh..I want bacon, give Lily bacooooon”

“Lily you should eat your breakfast yourself, don’t make uncle Joaquin-

Joaquin as usual immediately cuts me “Jen it’s okay, you’ve been saying that for almost 2 years now. You know Lily deserves to be spoiled” he said before winking on my daughter and shoving the piece of bacon in her mouth

“Right little good girl?” he beamed and taps Lily’s head

“Hmm! Lily is a good girl! Right mommy?” she nods her head and smiled  to me while biting the bacon.
