BIRTHDAY

3rd person POV

It was y/n's birthday, they will be celebrating it with her friends and her boyfriend. Her busy boyfriend.

Y/n sighs as Lia, Keonhee, Juyeon, and her continues to decorate the house for y/n's birthday.

Jungkook was at work but he promised to be home by the time the celebration starts.

"I'm tired... Isn't Jungkook the who supposed to be helping you?" Juyeon says lying down.

"Yeah but he's busy" Y/n answered continuing to decorate. Juyeon hums, standing up to get some water.

"Juyeon, babe, please check the cake" Lia orders her boyfriend. "Sure" he answers checking the cake that Lia and y/n baked.

Jungkook ate the baked cookies that was given to him until someone knocked and went inside.

"Jungkook, their all there, ready?" Jungkook's assistant, Yeseul, got her clipboard wrapped around her arms as Jungkook nods.

While walking to the meeting room Yeseul asked something.

"Isn't it y/n's birthday today?" She asks, a smile form my lips hearing her name. "Yeah" he answered. "Then what are you doing here?" She asks again. Jungkook left a heavy sigh.

"Work of course, but I'll be home before the celebration starts" They reached the room and went inside.

Y/n went inside her room to find something to wear, of course Lia by her side.

"Are sure he'll arrive?" Lia asked. "Of course, he promised"  Y/n answered. Lia nods carefully finding her best friend the best outfit.

"How bout' this one?" Lia holds the clothes making y/n grin.

"Sure"

Jungkook left a heavy sigh as I see piles of files on top of my desk. "Let's go, Jungkook, for y/n" He motivated himself, sitting getting ready to work.

It was already 8:00 p.m and the celebration started.

Y/n was so anxious, worried Jungkook won't come.

"Hey, he'll come, he promised" Keonhee comforted her. Y/n leaves a warm smile, nodding her head.

10:00 p.m.

Jungkook started sweating as he tries to finish the paper works as soon as possible.

He was already late, and it didn't helped him.

He continues to glance at the clock hoping it'll stop.

"Wait for me y/n" he mumbles.

Y/n sniffles as her bestfriends comfort her.

11:00 p.m

The so called celebration had already ended.

"Sweetheart, don't cry" Juyeon cooes. Lia gave y/n a warm smile hugging her close. "Dont worry y/n were here, forget about that jerk" Keonhee growled.

"Lia, can stay with you and Juyeon. I don't want to see him" y/n requests.

Lia smiles, "Of course, birthday girl"

Jungkook rushes to his car, driving at full speed. He was so late, his heart was throbbing. It hurted.

He reached their house, immediately getting out of his car.

Jungkook gulped seeing the lights off, but he thought possitively.

Maybe, their having a movie marathon.

Jungkook opens the door, flicking the lights open, seeing nobody.

Tears swell from Jungkook eyes, as he sees confetti on the floor, colorful paper hanging around the house.

He rushes to the kitchen, hoping she was there.

But, no one was there.

There was a slice of cake on the table with a note.

I saved you some cake we baked. I'm staying at Lia's.

Tears fall from Jungkook's eyes as he sat down on the chair.

He stares at the cake, holding the his gift for her.

He had rushed to the store and bought you the necklace you've always wanted.

He lays the gift on the table, softly.

Tears continues to fall like waterfalls as he sniffles.

"Happy Birthday"
