Should've Said No

MICHAEL -

The memories come in flashbacks. They remind me of all the good times, then I realize that he threw it all away for one stupid mistake.

It was valentines day adn Luke had been at work with. I remember that I was sitting on the couch, watching the TV ewith tears in my eyes. He had left this morning with no hug or kiss, just a 'See ya later" and a small smile. I decided to just watch Pretty Little Liars.

Suddenly I heard the door open and I wiped my eyes with the sleeve of Luke's oversized sweater.

"Mikey?" He called, walking through the doors with a bouquet of flowers.

"Lukey?" I ask, surprised.

"You seriously thought I'd forget Valentines day?" He smiles.

Maybe you didn't forget, but that doesn't make up for what you did.

Today was my birthday and I was sitting on the toilet, staring at the boy across from me. The reflection of myself. Luke hadn't called or talked to me since Tuesday and it was Saturday. He knew that I was stressed lately, he knew that I couldn't be left alone or I might so something. I had already broke my razor so I guess him calling wouldn't really help now. Suddenly, my phone rung. I gloomily pick it up.

"Mikey? I'm so sorry, I was working on a project for work and I couldn't use my phone and I'm really sorry. Did you..." He trailed off.

"Uh, yeah." I say sadly.

"Michael I'm so sorry. I love you so much, I'll be over in ten." He said, hanging up the phone. A few minutes later he arrived at my door step with flowers and a box of chocolates. I suddenly felt myself smiling.

"Lukey," I sighed as he pulled me into a warm hug.

"I am so sorry, Mike, I love you." He sighed into my shoulder.

"It's OK, I love you too Luke." I smile to myself.

All you do is lie.

Luke and I had been invited to a camping with a few of his friends. I had been a little unsure at first but somehow Luke talked me into it. He always knew what to say.

We were now sitting on wooden logs surrounding a fire, as cliche as it is, I was enjoying every moment. I was snuggled into Luke's warm embrace while the others told stories and sang songs.

"Cause all I know is we said hello, and your eyes look like coming home, all I know is a simple name and everything has changed."

Everything changed, thanks to you.

I was sitting at home, watching the TV when my phone started to ring. I looked down at the caller ID, 'Luke'.

"Hey Lukey," I say warmly, smiling to myself.

"Michael, we're over. I found some one else." Luke slurred through the phone. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"Luke, you're drunk again, baby come home." I sigh. I felt a few tears come to my eyes.

"No, Mike I found someone els-" "Lukey, hurry up I'm waiting." Luke is cut off my a purring girl in the background.

"Listen Michaelll, I don't need you... I found someone better," He said. Suddenly the line was flat and I was left in my tears and thoughts.

All you had to do was say no, Luke. You should've said no.

And now is where I leave you, Luke. Maybe I'll see you on the other side. I still love you even if you did move on, and maybe if I stayed around you would explain and we could still be together, but sometimes I let pain consume me. Sometimes I care too much, and I expected you to care as much. I realize now that I care too much for my own good and that made me feel 100x more love for you. Goodbye Luke, I hope to see you soon.

He left the note on his bed. He left it for me. Even after all I did. He still cared.
