Waking before my alarm clock, the cozy once warm side of the bed has been lifted and vacated, left cold and lonely. Jason kept his word, we made love until he had to leave. Sadly I fell asleep before his departure, not granting myself with a true goodbye.

Extending my arms out to his side of the bed, I roll over and smell the sheets. Wrapping my naked self in his woodsy scent. A crinkle of what sounded like crisp paper voices itself above the pillow. Smooth manila paper rests upon the bed. I sit up and read the note.

The girl with brown eyes

The girl with brown eyes. Once I thought I could never fall so easily. I always caught myself, watched my footing. That was until I saw her. The first day, so beautiful even drenched in water and coated with mud.

The same girl with the molasses eyes, kind, so soft. I couldn't take mine off of her. For some reason, this girl welcomed me into her life. Opened up to me, laughed with me, kissed me.

Then the girl with copper brown eyes fled. I couldn't find her, didn't know her. No girl compared to the beautiful girl with brown eyes. Her hair fell down her shoulders, silky ends curled around her back, pink creamy lips waited to be kissed by me, I could feel her need.

When the girl with brown eyes showed up in my life once again, I knew she was really mine. Something told me to never let her go again. Here I am leaving her for my own selfish reasons.

I couldn't be selfish enough to wake her, she's so beautiful asleep, fully at peace. She needed rest after the long night, her eyes reeked of fatigue. Those beautiful, euphoric, creamy brown eyes, match her gorgeous locks of hair. I'm sorry baby, I'll be back, I promise.

Love,

Your Handsome Stranger

I pull the note close to my heart, knowing that these words came from his, hugging it like it were him. Our hearts are as one now and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Folding his precious words, I place it on the night stand and lay in bed, replaying the evening that lead up until now. They say nothing is perfect, but fuck what people say. This night was perfect, Jason is perfect for me, and I'm perfectly fine with the direction of my life.

After waking Debra up, she reluctantly agreed to watch Axel for me until the end of my shift. I only have to worry about it for the rest of this week. He starts school next Monday, once I get him on the bus and shipped to school, I can travel to work. I'll have to find someone to watch him after he gets out.

Fully awake but not so ready, I gather my clothes from the ground, stepping into them. Turning all the lights off, I exit the barn, slipping into the cool morning dew. The wet blades of grass sweep across my feet dampening them. Goosebumps scatter throughout my skin. The sun rises in the distance, a new day, a new start.

Once inside the house, I start to get ready for work at the office. In the shower and out within twenty minutes. Deciding to put make up on, shading in my brows for a more defined, bold look. Eyeliner dusts the water lines of my eyelids.
