The sun rose as Taehyung and Jungkook found themselves back at the street that would lead them to the houses.
"Okay, I'm going to call Jimin and try to explain everything..." Jungkook's face flushed with guilt, "And you need to go grab that note and dispose of it so your parents don't have a heart attack."
Taehyung nodded.
"I'll be back in ten minutes."
With that, he ran back towards his house.
Jungkook whipped out his phone and pressed Jimin's contact. The older picked up on the third ring.
"Hey, Jungkook. I need to talk to you- um, you first, though, since you called."
"Oh, okay, well... I'm really sorry, Jimin, but I'm not feeling a spark and-" Jungkook cut himself off with a sigh. "I'll just be honest with you. I like Taehyung and I can't date you because that's not fair to you."
"Oh, well... okay."
"What did you want to say?"
"I was going to say something similar. Honestly, I did kind of like you, but I really had my eye on someone else... I thought if I just became infatuated with you, I would get over the person I really liked... that's the real reason I was avoiding the others and clinging to you."
Jungkook was silent for a moment.
"So you mean to tell me you like someone in our group?"
Jimin was silent for a round.
Jungkook chuckled.
"Okay, Jiminie, your secret's safe with me."
Jimin's sigh of relief crackled through the speaker.
"Friends?"
"Friends."
"Okay, see you at school."
"Nah, I'm skipping today."
Jimin laughed.
"Okay, use protection!"
Jimin's laughter sounded again. He could practically hear the younger's face turning red.
"Bye, Jimin."
"Bye, Kook."
Beep.
Jungkook turned around and made his way towards Taehyung's house.
When he was halfway there, he met the older making his way back.
"Hey, Jungkook! How did it go with Jimin?"
"Great, actually. He pretty much was in the same situation as me- he was trying to use me as a way to get over his real crush."
Taehyung shook his head.
"This is too much drama for me."
Jungkook giggled. Somehow, they ended up walking towards the town square, hand in hand.
"By the way, we're skipping today," Jungkook informed the older casually.
"No objection here, then."
"Good."
Taehyung let go of Jungkook's hand to flick him in the ear before intertwining their fingers again.
"What was that for?" Jungkook whined.
"For being disrespectful."
"I wasn't!"
"You were acting like you could boss me around."
"Was not!"
"Okay."
They walked in silence for a while longer, looking at all the neat little shops that lined the square as their lights turned on and their doors unlocked.
"Ugh, it's cold out here."
"Oh my gosh! I forgot you gave me your jacket. Here," Taehyung blubbered as he struggled to remove it quickly.
"No, no. Keep it on. Let's just go home."
"But then they'll know we're skipping."
"Not at my house; my mom is visiting a friend for the week while my dad's on a business trip."
Jungkook pulled Taehyung towards a little street that shortcutted to the corner by his house.
"So you've been home alone?"
"Yeah."
"That's cool."
"I guess. I'm kind of used to it now, though."
Taehyung nodded in understanding. He sort of felt bad for the younger, thinking how lonely he must be. They emerged from the tiny road and turned to Jungkook's house, which was right next to them. They went inside, making their way up to Jungkook's room.
"I'm glad it's warmer in here," Jungkook murmured.
"Hey, Jungkook?"
"Yeah?" Jungkook replied, inviting Taehyung onto his bed.
Taehyung sat down, removing the coat he wore and replacing it with the blankets. Jungkook snuggled against him.
"Jungkook, will you be my boyfriend?"
Jungkook smiled widely.
"That depends. If I agree, will you hug me and kiss me whenever I ask for it?"
"Hmm... depends on when you ask for it," Taehyung replied, pulling Jungkook onto his lap.
Jungkook giggled, turning to face him and leaning close until their noses touched.
"Alright, then, sounds pretty good to me."
Taehyung chuckled, leaning closer and kissing the younger sweetly. Jungkook pulled the older closer, wanting more snuggles. Taehyung smiled into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Jungkook's waist and pulling the younger's body against his. Breaking the kiss, Jungkook buried his face into the side of Taehyung's neck.
"You're warm," Jungkook murmured.
Taehyung chuckled, smiling like an idiot as he held Jungkook the way he'd been longing to hold him for the past year and a half. Slowly, he laid back, still holding Jungkook close, so they could lay down together a snuggle.
"I'm gonna go to sleep, okay?" He whispered to the younger.
"Yeah, last night was probably not very restful, was it?" Jungkook whispered against Taehyung's neck.
"No, not really."
Jungkook shifted so that he was using Taehyung's chest as a pillow.
"Good night, Taetae."
"G'night, baby boy."
Taehyung smiled secretly to himself when he felt the sudden increase in temperature from Jungkook's cheeks seeping into the cloth of his shirt.
a/n: I tried my best to give this the happiest ending I could. I'm sorry if it was really bad or if you would've rather had more angst.
