A continuation of "Run." and "Breathe".

Taehyung woke up first out of the two of them. Jeongguk lay snuggled in his arms, trying to defy the cold. He slept gracefully, Taehyung noticed, as if floating in suspended animation. It took a few minutes for him to stir.

"Morning. How do you feel?" Taehyung asked.

Jeongguk opened his eyes to be met with Taehyung's puffy face. The sight made Jeongguk smile slightly.

     "I'm fine. How about you?"

"Same." Taehyung pulled Jeongguk up, earning a groggy whine of protest.

"Stop it," Jeongguk squirmed as Taehyung took his covers away, "It's too early to get up."

"No, it's not," Taehyung stated matter-of-factly, voice light and unbothered, almost mocking.

"You're so mean." Jeongguk closed his eyes and let Taehyung scoop him up. He wrapped his legs around Taehyung's waist and his arms around Taehyung's neck, hugging him like a sloth on a tree branch. His neck was too tired to hold up his head, so he rested his cheek on Taehyung's shoulder.

Taehyung nearly cooed but kept quiet, opting instead to admire Jeongguk silently. With his hands under Jeongguk's thighs, he carried the sleepy boy to the bathroom so they could both wash up. Knowing Jeongguk didn't have a toothbrush, Taehyung took an extra out of the drawer, unpackaged it, and handed it to Jeongguk. The boy sighed begrudgingly before allowing Taehyung to set him down.

Jeongguk only truly woke up after they washed their faces. He slowly began to remember everything that had gone on the night before. Which meant he remembered the older had wanted to say something. It sounded important, so he decided to wait until they were eating breakfast to ask about it.

As Taehyung started cooking, Jeongguk sat at the kitchen table. He let his mind wander, thoughts shifting to Taehyung. Jeongguk appreciated Taehyung very much and was endlessly grateful to have him in his life. Without the older boy's guidance, Jeongguk didn't really know where he would be. Reliable, trustworthy, protective, adorable; synonyms for Taehyung, Jeongguk decided.

Briefly, it crossed his mind that he loved Taehyung very much, too. He wasn't sure if it was normal to love one's best friend as much as he loved Taehyung. and he also wasn't sure if his relationship with Taehyung, in general, was normal. If it wasn't, he didn't mind. He was ever grateful for every touch, every smile, every hug, every peck on the top of his head. Who cared if they acted more like a couple than friends?

Now that he thought of it, Jeongguk wouldn't mind being a couple with Taehyung. He was probably the best partner ever. There was only one problem: Taehyung had never actually talked about his own sexuality. Jeongguk was ninety-eight percent sure Taehyung was gay, but he couldn't really be sure until he asked. But how was he supposed to do that?

Wait, why did he want to know? Was he serious about wanting to date Taehyung? Hold on, he needed a moment. Well, yeah, dating Taehyung would be great. It meant more attention, more kisses, but most importantly, it meant Taehyung. Taehyung would be his and only his. Maybe that was a little possessive of Jeongguk to want, but who could blame him?

Furthermore, Jeongguk would do his best for Taehyung if they were a couple. He could be the one Taehyung went to if he needed to talk about anything, anything at all. Wait, he already was that person, right? But what if Taehyung had other friends that he was more comfortable being around? What if he didn't love Jeongguk back? What if he already had a significant other that Jeongguk didn't even know about?!
