Jungkook slipped out of bed, slightly annoyed by the loss of warmth. He stood in the dark for a moment hearing Taehyung shift. The man murmured in his sleep, causing Jungkook to hold his breath, but after a few minutes of no movement, Jungkook figured he was safe.

Making his way to the kitchen, he glanced at the glowing numbers displayed on the digital clock on the wall. It was 5:01 AM; just in time.

A variety of Taehyung's favorite foods were stuffed into a large basket; cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins, chocolate-colored strawberries, lemon cake, and cookies.

Satisfied with his work, Jungkook closed the basket and placed it on the passenger seat of the car. A beach blanket came flying after it, along with a pair of bathing suits. He and Taehyung lived a 10-minute drive away from the beach, which didn't seem long until Jungkook realized Taehyung might wake up. Wanting this to be a surprise, he planned to keep Taehyung in his state of unconsciousness until they arrived at the beach and he got everything set up. He would be tense the entire car ride, since the movement if the vehicle may threaten his plans.

Tip-toeing back to hs and Taehyung's room, Jungkook was relieved to see the other male sleeping soundly, hugging his pillow. The younger smiled at the sight, cooing silently. He'd hate to wake up the other now, so he had to be careful. Slipping one arm under Taehyung's back and the other under his knees, making sure the blanket was still wrapped tightly around his frame, Jungkook lifted the man from his place on the bed. The trip to the car was a slow, tense process.

Finally, Jungkook was able to place the older across the back seat. He was relieved that Taehyung was a heavy sleeper or the older would have surely woken up. Closing the door softly, Jungkook tip-toed around to the driver's seat.

Driving at four AM was a weird experience. The roads were empty, the world was quiet. It was peaceful, yet numbingly solitary. Even though Jungkook knew Taehyung was sleeping right behind him, he felt lonely.

Due to his state of drowsiness, the time seemed to slip by quickly. It wasn't long before they emerged on the sandy shores of the beach, the water reflecting the indigo sky. Jungkook smiled. He was excited to be able to do this for his boyfriend, especially since they hadn't been out together in a while.

He quietly went to the passenger side door and took out the blanket and basket of food. Setting it up was an easy process, so he had it done within two minutes. Then came the hard part. Jungkook opened the backseat and leaned over the sleeping male. Soft snores were escaping his pink lips, which were parted ever so slightly. His face was puffy from sleep, giving him an even softer look than usual. Taehyung's face was the only thing visible at the moment since in his sleep the man had used the blankets around him to turn himself into a burrito.

Jungkook slipped to arms under his burrito baby and lifted him out of the car. It was lucky that the younger was so muscular, as he was easily able to carry Taehyung to the blanket. He glanced back once to be sure he closed all the doors on his car, and once he was sure everything was perfect, he checked the time. 5:49 AM, his phone read. Perfect.

The sun rose at 6:00, meaning he had a little more time. Using the time he had wisely, Jungkook set out all the food around them so they could access it easily. When everything was done, he waited a few minutes. Then, he started the process of waking Taehyung.

He put a hand on the blankets where he assumed Taehyung's side was (he couldn't really tell since the man was still a blanket burrito). Rubbing it, he started whispering.

"Wake up, Tae, I want you to see this."

Taehyung's eyes opened slowly as he slipped out of his dream realm. He scrunched up his face at the cold and looked at Jungkook. The wind alerted him that they were no longer in the bedroom, making him extremely confused.

"Kookie, where are we?" He asked.

"On the beach to watch the sunrise," Jungkook replied, kissing Taehyung's swollen cheek, "Happy birthday, baby."

Taehyung sat up, eyebrows furrowed and eyes still heavy with sleep. Finally processing where they were, he took a deep breath that woke him up.

"Oh my gosh, Kookie!" He exclaimed though his voice was still thick with sleep, making it deeper than usual.

The younger smiled, pulling the blankets away from Taehyung's arms to give him a hug. As he did so, the older whined.

"I'm cold," He complained, trying to pull the blankets around himself again.

"I'll keep you warm, then," Jungkook replied, pulling Taehyung closer.

The older giggled and leaned into Jungkook. The sky was beginning to lighten, signifying the sun coming up. Taehyung wriggled in excitement.

"How did you get us here without waking me up?" He asked, placing a soft peck on Jungkook's cheek.

"It was very difficult," Jungkook answered vaguely.

The sun peeked up from the horizon casting the first orange rays over the ocean. The water reflected the fire, the waves turning bright tangerine.

They sat quietly and watched it together. Well, Taehyung watched it; Jungkook was too busy staring at Taehyung's golden-hour look. The sun was making his skin glow a rich tan color; he was ethereal to Jungkook.

"What's this?" Taehyung asked, finally noticing the food around him.

Jungkook smiled, opening the box of cinnamon rolls and handing Taehyung one.

"Breakfast," He replied, biting into his own roll.

Taehyung grinned and took a bite as well, enjoying the moment with his boyfriend. They sat together in a comfortable quiet, eating the different foods Jungkook had packed.

"Kookie?" Taehyung asked quietly, looking into Jungkook's eyes.

"Yes, Tae?" Jungkook answered quietly, losing himself in Taehyung's bright orbs.

"I love you."

Jungkook smiled and hugged Taehyung close, which Taehyung quickly responded to. They held each other tightly for a moment. Turning his head, Jungkook placed a soft kiss onto Taehyung's ear before whispering,

"I love you, too."

The feeling of Jungkook's breath made Taehyung shiver, which resulted in him giggling.

They finished their breakfast watching the sun rise over the sea.
