Ok so this one shot is going to be a bit different it is not in their 7th year and it is not at hogwarts or in any time correctency (<not a word) for real life but I had this idea so I am rolling with it. The marauders are in their 2nd year if u haven't noticed from my other one shots Marlene and James are cousins, and it has modern ,well relatively modern, songs from A MODERN laptop with YouTube, with lights and speakers also anyway enjoy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The day before New Year's Eve James' house was mental. His mum his dad their 2 house elves and 10 extra house elves were almost running around the manor trying to prepare for their annual New Year's Eve party. They hold one every year for ministry workers and family and friends. The ballroom has been extended to hold about x100 more people so has the living room. A count down projector is out side reddy for the count Down to start, even the grand staircase had to be widened to fit the room properly. So they could descend it without looking odd.thats the bit James dreads every year. His parents go down from either side join in the middle then link arms for the rest of the way down, then he goes down with Marlene one day though it will be with his girlfriend then eventually his wife. They have to practice the defend today and on New Year's Eve. James finds it literal tourcher, but it is better than having to dance with all of the ministry officials daughters. First dance with Marlene then small talk, then dance, small talk, dance, small talk, dance, small talk and I think you get the picture. The Mckinnons arrived that night to help out a bit and by that I mean Mr. And Mrs.M helped and marls just chilled with James. ————————————————————— New Years Eve ————————————————————— With it being New Year's Eve guess what the Potters would be doing very soon, that's right practicing because in James' mums words 'it has to be perfect' James was interrupted from his lunch by "JAMES HAROLD FLEAMONT POTTER!" His mums yelling. Sighing James made his way to the grand staircase and he arrived as Marlene came down "aren't we meant to be at the top?" He asked with a chuckle. "That's what I thought" she replied "but apparently we are needed down here first" "Right Ok What has my Mother dearest got planned for this year?" "Beats me son" Mr.P said coming up behind the pair and waiting with then for his wife.
"Right you two James up the left side Marls up the right dear, on the count of 3 you are to descend then stop when you meet in the middle, let's see how much you remember 1. 2. 3." James mum said. Marlene and James made their ways slowly to the middle of the staircase, James arriving first to offer his hand to Marlene to lead her down her last steps then both of them moving to the middle, James offering his arm, Marlene placing her arm in the crook then waiting for Mrs.p to say something. "Right, well that wasn't to bad. James sweety you need to be there a bit quicker to help Marls ok? Oh and marls move your arm so it is further back ... That's it. Right again." This practice lasted almost 2 hours before they got a break. Then they had to go to sleep then they would practice again in their ball clothes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
