Chapter 2: Finally home

(Callies bedroom)
The next morning, mom woke us up pretty early in hopes to get to our new home today.

"Alright girls, hurry and get ready so we can check out and get on the road. Hope, do you want to drive the first stretch?" Mom asked, packing her tooth brush back into her bag.

"Sure, I don't mind." Hope said, getting out of bed, heading to the bathroom to relieve herself, I presume. I grabbed my phone and saw I had a message from my best friend, Emery.

'I miss you so much already! Are you at your new house already? <3 E' I smiled at the message.
'I miss you too! Not quite, we stopped at a hotel for the night. I'll text you when we get there.' I sent off my message, got out of bed and changed my clothes real quick. I decided on some capri black yoga pants and a cropped white t-shirt. I headed to the bathroom after Hope finally got out. By the time I was finished in the bathroom, Hope had all our stuff ready to bring to the car.

"Alright, lets go we have about 7 hours until we get into Pocatello." Mom said, popping her head into our hotel room. We nodded, grabbed our stuff, double checking to make sure we didn't leave anything behind, then left the room. Mom went to check out as we headed to the car.

"Alright, let's get the perfect playlist ready for the rest of this drive." I got into the car and rolled my eyes at Hope.

"It's not like I'm going to care, I'm going to be zoned out listening to my own music, heck I may even take a nap." It was Hopes turn to roll her eyes at me. She shook her head and chose her playlist without my input. Mom got into the car at this point and handed us some fruit for breakfast.

"We will plan for a couple stops. Once at our first stop, we will switch drivers and we'll also get lunch. We will only stop for a bathroom if it's really necessary." Mom and her travel plans. Hope started driving and that was my cue for a nap.

A FEW HOURS LATER

"Callie, wake up it's time for food." Hope said, shaking me. I groaned, stretched and opened my eyes. I got out of the car and saw we were at a diner of some sorts. We headed inside and my stomach growled in hunger.

"I could go for a good burger right now." I exclaimed while rubbing my stomach. Mom glanced at me.

"I think you should go with a healthier option since we all haven't exercised in the last day. Don't want you getting fat." We sat down, I looked over at mom and frowned.

"I guess you're right." I flipped through the menu looking for a healthy lunch. I hated when my mom talked like that, I am at a perfectly healthy weight for my height, if I wanted a burger I think it should be ok. I found a good looking salad I thought looked good, hopefully mom approves of this meal.

"Hi, my name's Darline and I'll be taking care of you today. Are you ready to place your order?" Darline was an older woman, possibly in her 60's and probably owned the place.

"Can I get 3 chicken ceaser salads, as well as 3 waters please." My mom ordered for us. Well guess we don't get to decided what we wanted, I really wanted the apple orchard salad.

"I'll be right back with your order." Darline smiled and left our table. I looked over at mom and gave her a look while she wasn't looking. Hope glanced at me and gave me a sad smile. After a few minutes Darline came back with our waters and let us know that the salads should be out shortly. I sipped my water and checked my phone, seeing if I had any messages.

"No phones at the table, Callie." Mom told me, turning back to Hope and continued talking. I put my phone away and continued sipping on my water.  It's not like they were going to include me in the conversation anyways. Darline came back with our food, it looked really good, but I was still a little upset. We all quickly ate so that we could get back on the road. I think we only have 3 or 4 hours left in our trip.

"Girls, use the restroom before we leave. I'm going to be driving the rest of the trip and we might not stop again." Hope and I went to the restroom while mom paid the bill.

"I'm sorry you couldn't get what you wanted." Hope said when we got in the bathroom. I shrugged my shoulders and entered the stall.

"I should have known she was going to saying something like that. I shouldn't have even bothered looking at the menu if she was going to order something for us." I flushed the toilet and went to wash my hands. Hope exited her stall and came to wash her hands.

"I wouldn't have either." We dried our hands and exited the bathroom. We headed out of the diner and got in the car, mom immediately started driving, hopefully the drive doesn't feel too long.

FOUR AND A HALF HOURS LATER

After what seemed like forever, mom finally pulled up to a cute two story house in a cute little neighborhood.

"Welcome home girls!" Mom parked the car and we all got out. It was already kind of dark out, so it was kind of hard to see the beauty of the house.

"The movers should have set up the rooms already, if I'm not wrong." We stepped in the house. It kind of looked like our old house, at least the set up of it. I didn't really care to look around right now and went straight up stairs to the bedrooms.

"You're room is at the end of the hall wall to your left!" Mom yelled upstairs. I followed my moms instructions and entered my room. The walls were a dark grey with a white boarder. My decorations were already on the wall with my bed against the longest side. Besides the rooms layout, everything was like how I had it back in our old house. I went and laid down on my bed, deciding to just go to bed since I'm exhausted, not even bothing to change my clothes. I curled up in my white with small black hearts comforter and passed out.
