Chapter 1: Moving

I didn't want to move, I had no desire to, but I had to. My mother, Susan, decided that she was over living in the city and was moving us to the country. We are going from California to Idaho. I wish I could stay here with my best friend, but I wasn't allowed since I'm only 17 and still in high school. My name is Callie and I have a twin sister named Hope. We both have long straight dirty blonde hair, greenish blue eyes, and we are both pretty slim but athletic. The only real difference between us is height, I stand at a proud 5'4 and Hope is 5'6. My family has a secret and I'm sure in time you'll find out, but for now, I'll keep you wondering. It has always been just the 3 of us, my dads left us when Hope and I were babies, so we don't really know much about him.

"Callie, honey, we need to get going." My mom said, coming into my room. I looked over at her, nodding, then she left the room. I looked around my childhood bedroom one last time, soaking in all the memories, before turning to walk out of the room, closing the door behind me. I headed down the stairs and met my mom and sister at the front door.

"You ready?" My mom asked us. Hope and I looked at each other then at our mom.

"As ready as we can be." We said together. We walked out of our house to our car, a Tesla model 3, red in color. We pulled out of our driveway and started down our street for the last time. I grabbed my phone, plugged in my headphones and started listening to some music. I must have fallen asleep at some point during the drive because I was suddenly being shaken awake.

"Callie, wake up, we're at the hotel." Hope said to me. I looked around and saw that we were at a Best Western.

"Where are we? Like what state?" I asked yawning while getting out of the car, stretching.

"We're in Imlay, Nevada. We almost made it to Idaho, we are just a couple hours out, but it's already 1am and I don't want either of you girls driving at this time. So I made the decision to stop for the night." Mom said, grabbing an over night bag out of the car. We headed to the office and got a single room with two queen size beds. Our room is pretty nice and the beds were really soft. Hope and I shared a bed while mom took the other one. We got settled for the night and went to sleep.
