Chapter 16: Telling The Truth

I burst into tears. This is all my fault, I killed my baby.

"Can you weigh her?" Jason asked. He looked a little mad, but he was also crying.

"I know how much I weigh." I said quietly. "I'm 84 pounds."

"Oh honey. You are way underweight." The doctor said to me.

"You did this. You know you were supposed to be gaining weight, yet you've lost weight. You killed my pup." Jason said to me in a stern voice. He turned away from me and headed towards the door. "I could reject you for this." Then he walked out the door, leaving me. My heart broke into a million pieces for losing my baby and probably my mate too.

"It wasn't my fault." I cried out to the doctor. She came over and hugged me, comforting me.

"Well, you were the one losing weight knowing you needed to gain for the sake of your pup. You control your body and what happens to it."

"No I don't.." The doctor looked at me, confused.

"What do you mean?" I looked at her. Was I ready to talk to someone about this? I guess I need to since it made me lose my baby.

"My mom controls everything. She tracks everything Hope and I eat and if we go over a certain weight, she would starves us until she is pleased with our weight. I would never ever do this to myself on purpose, especially when I had a baby on the way." I cried.

"Is this the first time you've told someone?" I nodded, sniffling. The doctor got up and left me in the room by myself, not saying a word of why she was leaving. I was so mad at not only my mom, but myself too, because I let her do this. I got up and started putting my bloody sweatpants back on, getting ready to leave for home.

"Don't even think about leaving, Ms. Stone." I turned around to see the Alpha and the doctor standing at the door. "You aren't going anywhere."

"What?" I questioned.

"You and Hope aren't going back to the house. We need to investigate what's going on. We'll have Callum make sure Hope comes here before you head home."

"And how are you going to investigate? We don't even know where she's hiding anything."

"We have a plan in place. We will have someone at your house at all times as well as someone to set up cameras and mics around the house. Once we have everything we need, you'll never have to deal with any of that again." I nodded. The Alpha looked over me and noticed my bloody pants I had on. "Edna, please get her new pants before people find out what happened. No one needs to find out what had happened." Edna nodded and did as she was told. "Don't worry about Jason. I'll talk to him." I gave him a small smile.

"Thank you Alpha." He nodded and I was left alone, once again. I curled up on the bed and cried. I was just an emotional wreck with everything that just happened today. Edna came back with pants and I changed. I just laid there and waited until Hope got here. It's been a few hours since everything and Hope should be here any minute. The door burst open and there stood Hope, she ran over to me and hugged me.

"Why didn't you tell me? I would have helped you." I squeezed her tight, not wanting to let go. I didn't realize how much I needed a hug until now.

"I was waiting until our birthday. Jason and I wanted to keep it to ourselves for now, until we were in the safe zone. I'm so sorry Hope." I cried into her shoulder.

"What about the birth control? That had to be one of the reasons why." I shook my head.

"No. Jason called the doctor's office and informed the doctor. They didn't really give me the implant, just something that felt like it." Hope pulled away and looked at me.

"I've been informed what's going to happen. We're going to get out of this, Callie. We are going to be ok." Hope hugged me again. We have never been this affectionate towards each other.

"Okay. We are ready." The Alpha said, coming into the room with Callum behind him. Where's Jason? I thought his dad was going to talk to him.

"Okay." I said and started walking towards the door with Hope. We went out to our car and got inside. Hope turned to Callum.

"Oh, we are going out to dinner tonight, so here's a key so you can get in and do your thing." Hope handed Callum a key and he nodded. I waved at him and we headed off towards our house.
