Chapter 4: First Date
The rest of the day was quite uneventful, but Callum was in a couple of my classes, which was pretty cool. Once school was over, Hope and I started heading over to the car, when someone called my name.
“Hey, Callie, wait up!” I turned around and saw it was Callum. I smiled at him and waved. Why the heck did you wave? You're such a nerd.
“Hey Callum, what's up?” I turned and saw that Hope had decided to go to the car to give us a little space.
“I was wondering if you wanted to hangout sometime? Get some ice cream or something.” Callum asked with a hopeful smile. Did he just ask me out? I'm sure my eyes were as big as a tire. This has to be a joke. There's no way this god of a guy wants to go out with me.
“Umm, sure?” Of course I made it come out like a question. Callum laughed a bit.
“Awesome! Can I get your number?” I nodded. I grabbed a sheet of paper and quickly wrote down my number and handed it to him. “Sweet, I'll text you later.” He winked and walked away. What just happened?! I walked to the car and got in, Hope was staring at me waiting for me to tell her what just happened, but I was still in shock.
“Well? What did he want?” Hope asked as we started driving away from the school.
“He just asked me out for ice cream.” Hope stopped the car suddenly and looked at me. Like that's safe, stop in the middle of a busy road.
“What?! It's only our first day and you basically already have a boyfriend. What the heck!” Hope started driving again.
“It's just a date, he didn't ask me to be his girlfriend. It's probably just a joke if anything.” I grabbed my phone and saw I had a message from an unknown number.
‘Hey It's Callum. Send me your address and I'll pick you up at 7.’
I sent him my address and let him know that I'll see him then.
“You never know, Callie. He could actually have a thing for you. Anyways, I'll help you with you outfit for tonight. Also, don't tell mom you're getting ice cream, she'll flip.” We pulled into the driveway, got out of the car and went in to the house.
“So, how was your first day of school?” Mom called from the kitchen.
“Callie basically already has a boyfriend. She has a date tonight.” Hope said getting in to the fridge.
“Just because I got asked out, doesn't mean he's my boyfriend.” I rolled my eyes and headed to the living room, taking a seat on the couch.
“Oh wow, someone asked you out? That will be fun what are you guys doing?” I shrugged my shoulders at her, picking at my nails.
“Probably get some food, talk, then come back home. No big deal.”
“Well, Hope will help you pick out your outfit. Make sure you get something healthy. No burgers and fries, don't want to make a bad impression.” I rolled my eyes at her. Good thing she's in the kitchen and can't see me. I got up and headed to my room. I was already going to ask for Hope's help, but now that mom suggested it, I really don't want to.
“Alright, I had my snack, let's get your outfit picked out for tonight!” Hope ran to my closet and started picking out random outfits. Hope tried to hand me a couple of dresses and I vetoed them immediately. Finally, after 30 minutes, she finally picked an outfit I approved of. It was a white off the shoulder shirt, light blue high waisted jeans and cute cream ankle boots. I looked at the time and it was only 4:30.
“Well I have a couple hours to do completely nothing until 6:30.” I said to myself. I hopped on my bed, loaded up Netflix on my phone and started a random movie. After my movie had finished, it was about 6:15. I decided to just get ready now and wait downstairs until 7. It didn't take me long to get ready. I headed downstairs and saw Hope and mom had just finished dinner. I guess I'm not eating tonight since I decided to lie to my mom about what I was going to do on this little outing.
