Chapter 22

"Today's the day! It's morning, the sun is shining, and," Luke pauses and gasps, "the tank is clean!"

He's shirtless, his hair messy and untamed. Most girls would say that I'm really lucky, and I'd have to agree with them. Of course I don't feel anything for Luke, but damn boy.

"Morning," I reciprocate and plop down on one of the stools in the kitchen. "Did you watch Finding Nemo last night?"

"Might've. I'm making hash browns," he informs with a smile. "How'd you sleep?"

I think of Kyle's arms wrapped around my waist when I respond, "good."

"Glad to hear that," Luke says and hands me a cup of coffee.

"Put on a shirt, dickhead. I don't need my girlfriend drooling over you," Kyle mutters harshly when he enters the kitchen.

He is wearing his glasses, one of the sexiest looks on him. His lips press to my cheek as he sits on the stool next to me, wrapping an arm around my waist.

"I'm confused," Luke cries dramatically loud.

"Why?" Kyle asks, even though it's pretty obvious why.

"Maybe because less than seven hours ago your 'girlfriend' came to my doorstep crying her eyes out because of you!" Luke's raised voice is always intimidating, so I swallow in slight fear of how heated things might get.

Kyle's jaw clenches as he thinks of what to say. "You don't even know what happened."

"Oh, don't I? Cassie told me what happened, Kyle. I already knew that you were a dick, but I didn't think you'd be one to the one person who seemed to actually make you happy."

Kyle takes a deep breath in fury. I just stay silent, staring between the two of them.

"This is your fault anyways, Luke! You made me go to the goddamn dance with Willow," he accuses in anger.

"And I also made her get on her knees and give you a blow job," Luke sasses.

Kyle stands up from the stool and charges towards Luke. He pushes his chest and slams him against the refrigerator.

"Shut the hell up! You know that didn't even happen!"

"How would I? You've slept with some of my girlfriends before. There's no real shock that you'd cheat on Cassie!"

Right as Kyle's fist goes backwards, I get up and rush over to them.

"Stop it," I yell and push Kyle away. "You know that this isn't Luke's fault."

"He doesn't have to be a jerk about something he doesn't even understand," Kyle argues.

Luke rolls his eyes and brushes his bare chest that has hand prints from where Kyle had been pushing him.

"At least Luke was there for me when you weren't," I mutter.

"I was giving you space!" Kyle cries. "You told me to leave you alone so I did. Honestly, do you think I was having a good time without you?"

I shrug, not meeting his gaze. "I don't really know what to think at this point. You said really hurtful things last night and then you think that all is forgiven? That's not how this works."

"You tell him, sister," Luke says in a weird voice.

Kyle chucks a banana at look before flipping him off. "Get out of here!"

Luke takes the banana and peels off the skin, shoving it in his mouth casually.

"Didn't know we were playing charades," I muse with a smirk, "but Willow."
