"Come on, we're gonna be late to visit my parents…" She giggled, tugging on his hand as they walked out the door. "You know how my Mum gets when we're late…"
Just as they reached the passengers door of the car, Jimmy leaned in and kissed her quickly before letting go of her hand and walked towards the drivers side of the car. Sliding in, he took one more look at the girl whom he found himself falling deeper and deeper in love with as every second passed.
Vanessa Williams was unconventional - for him anyway. She wasn't the type of girl he'd seen himself going after. She was tall, only slightly curvy body, but nothing out of the ordinary. She had short, cropped hair, as black and shiny as obsideon, and bright blue eyes to compliment the contrast of her hair. She was pretty, but naturally so. She never wore much make-up, only a bit of mascara here and there, and she dressed rather modestly; her favorite outfit being her most comfortable pair of jeans and a t-shirt or a sweater… That is, when she was even in her own clothes. Being a cardiothorastic surgeon, she was rarely seen out of scrubs and a lab coat. Not only did she dress to the nines, like he often did, but she wasn't all about beauty and vanity like all the other girls were. She was academic and had spent most of her time in books or medical journals in order to keep up with her research.
She was different from all the other girls he had been with, and that's why he loved her so. They'd only been together for about a year, but he was positive he wanted all the rest of his years spent with her. He smiled at the thought, and even dared to make the hasty, spontaneous decision of asking her father for his blessing while they visited her parents today.
Jimmy threw the car into drive and pulled the car out onto the road, heading towards Vanessa's parents home. He held her hand over the console, gentle rubbing her knuckles and wondering how he got lucky enough to land a girl like her.
She sighed softly as she felt his skin on hers. Smiling, she turned her head and allowed herself to drink in the sight of the man she called her boyfriend for the past year. Truth is, she was madly in love with him. I mean, he is Jimmy Page, so who wouldn't be? But she wasn't obsessive like all the other fans were. In fact, she adored Led Zeppelin, but never fawned over him like the other groupies. She believed entirely that he was a human just like she, and she wasn't about to dehumanize him just because he could play the guitar pretty well. She liked to believe that was what he liked about her so much - that she was down to earth and had more important things on her agenda than stroking his ego all day.
She would be lying though if she didn't think like all the other girls did… She would often find herself day dreaming about him, about his gorgeously long and dark hair, his glowing green eyes, his full rosey lips. About those cute little tufts of hair on his chest, or about the way the skin around his eyes would crinkle when he smiled, or the way he would tremble with emotion when he held her in his arms. She loved all of that about him - the good and the bad. She loved the way he yelled at her when he was angry, but would soon realize that she wouldn't put up with his pointless tantrums. She especially liked how they kept each other grounded, as they were both rather famous, but within entirely different worlds. She was a god in the operation room - the best in the country, in fact, while he was a god in the realms of music, stomping on the charts and bending the strings of his guitar to do his will.
She'd also be lying if she said she wasn't surprised about their relationship and how everything turned out to be. She was very stubborn in the beginning, aggrivatingly so, according to Jimmy. He thought she was just playing hard to get, while she was actually just wrapped up in her own mind and her work, oblivious to him and his attempts to get her attention. She was always one to think the worst of men; she had proven a hypothesis a few years back that all guys wanted from her was someone to shag and a go at her money. Every guy she's ever had feelings for had just used her for something she didn't care much about. All of them failed to she what she was really worth - all of them except Jimmy of course. She was that now, though she still had her doubts, and was sure she wanted to be with him for the rest of her life. Of course, she kept her guard up and tried to play the front that she cared about her work more than anything as she was still sure that he could just get up and leave her at any moment. He wouldn't though, and he would do anything to prove that to her.
