Can we make this work?

I don't understand!

Ellie's P.O.V.

I need to do something about Lottie and Jamie but I don't know what. How can I help them when they're right, my parents would never let it happen. There are a few reasons so I'll list them:

-Lottie is seen as the princess and 'the princess' can't date her parzian.

-Jamie is my parzian but because of the whole Portman thing he's seen as Lottie's parzian.

-My parents think that Jamie has no right to fall in love. Ummmmm.....Rude.

And there are others but what I mean to say is how can I possibly help them when they have other things in the way.

I'll have to talk to my parents!

So the next week I left for Maradova with Lottie and Jamie. They thought that we were going for an update meeting about her safety but really Ellie had requested a private meeting with her parents (and quite possibly her Grandmother) to ask about the Jottie thing. Is that a good ship name? I hope so because that is exactly what I will be using to refer to them.                                                   

When we landed Jamie and Lottie both went to their quarters but I went straight to the meeting with my parents. I burst through the doors barely half a minute late (new best) and saw my parents looking at the subject line of the meeting confused looks on their faces.

"Hi Mum, Dad how are we doing? Good? good anyway about this meeting..."

"Yes about this meeting,"my father said tiredly,"I just want to ask but what is Jottie I mean I think I have idea but that can't be right."

"How glad I am you asked that because I am more than happy to tell you."I looked at my Mum as if trying to telepathically tell her about the situation,"Jottie is my ship name for Lottie and Jamie. Do you like it?"

"Ship name?"my Mum questioned looking slightly confused,"what is a 'ship name'"

"A ship name is two people who are or should be togethers names put together, so is it good or is Lamie better? No definitely Jottie."

"Eleanor did you say should be or are together like as in dating! Because if you did then we need to go and find Jamie and Charlotte right now."my Dad said a bit alarmed.

"No Dad wait please I know you think that Jamie should be incapable of human love but he's a person too and also a teenager. Surely you can't expect 15 nearly 16 year old boy to hold in every single emotion he has ever had. It's not healthy for him to not express himself like ever, so can you forgive him just this once for falling in love?"

"Ellie please you know that Jamie isn't allowed to have relationships because he is a parzian, and parzians need to be able to be ready to give their life for their mistress or master and if he's in a relationship with Lottie then he might not be ready to do that."as my Mum said it she looked as if she really did understand my thinking. I wanted them to be together but now I was realising that sometimes things are better left alone.

"Now although it's late I think we need to ask Miss.Pumpkin and Mr.Volk to come down here. Go and get them Ellie please. See you in a few minutes."my Dad dismissed.

As soon as I got outside she felt a nervous feeling in her stomach. I had just exposed Jamie and Lottie to all of my family and soon the whole of the palace would know.

"Oh no!"I muttered under my breath and ran off to get Jamie and Lottie.

Ellie soon had them assembled in her room for a quick meeting and Lottie was sat next to Jamie resting her head on his shoulder almost asleep but kept awake by Jamie.

Queen Matilde's P.O.V.

I could hear voices coming from Ellie's room and I knew who was in there. I hope that what Ellie had said was true as I think that Lottie and Jamie are cute together as well and I think that Jamie  does need someone to open up to other than Ellie. I reached the door and looked through the key hole and saw an adorable sight Lottie practically asleep on Jamie's shoulder while he had his hand on her back. I pulled away and thought could Ellie be right? With that I hurried back to Alex to tell him what I saw.

"Alex you're never going to believe what I just saw!"I shouted bursting into the hall. Alex looked up from his discussion with Simien and looked at me,

"And what did you see may I ask?"he asked looking quizzical.

"It was the cutest thing ever and it was quite shocking on Jamie's as I'm sure that he's never let anyone do that before basically..."

"If right now you tell me that you saw them kiss then I give up, its already gone too far to come back from."

"Oh come on that's a bit harsh they're only kids!"I retaliated exasperated 

"But Jamie isn't just a kid and neither is Charlotte as they both have important roles to play in the household. They are not just kids and they never will be!"Alex's voice rose just at the wrong time because the kids walked in at that point

"Hey, what's going on?"Ellie asked calmly

"That's what the matter is"he said pointing at a very surprised Jamie and Lottie,"that is what the matter is because how did that even happen?"

"Erm what you might need to explain a bit first."Ellie said amused.

"The thing that's the matter is Jamie and Lottie getting a bit too close for my liking!"

Lottie looked as if she might cry and even Jamie looked like he was holding back a tear. That must mean things are really bad. Jamie didn't even cry when he injured in training so badly he had to go on bed rest. He never cries.

"Please sir I don't know what I did wrong."Lottie's small voice said. She was stood slightly behind Jamie and was crying.

"Look Charlotte, you won't understand yo.." Alex began but Lottie cut in

"No you don't understand. Why do people always think that just because I'm new I won't understand anything. I may not be the smartest but I can understand social things a lot better that maths questions. So tell me what is the matter, because I just don't understand you!"Lottie finished breathless and when she did she looked away and hugged Jamie for comfort. At that moment something in Alex's eyes softened. The sight of Lottie looking to Jamie must have sparked something about whether or not it was a good thing.

"Ok let's just talk about this later shall we when we are not all tired and shouty. You are dismissed."

Bit of a long chapter but I got a bit excited. Do you like long chapters better or the shorter ones?
