The Ball.

Lottie's P.O.V.

I was preparing  for the ball when a flustered Ellie came running into my room.

"Um Ellie what's wrong?"I asked slightly confused.

"I forgot to tell you that this function is the first one 'I've' ever attended so you will be getting an official announcement."

"Ok but was that really worth the melodramatics?"Typical Ellie 

"No just wanted to see how you would react."she shrugged her shoulders and skipped out the door.

I continued to get ready and then it was time. Time to show the world 'Ellie Wolf'.

"Good luck Lottie."I jumped at the voice but relaxed when I realised that it was only Jamie. 

"Thanks Jamie."I quickly gave him a hug much to the delight of the staff around us then got ready for my entrance.

After the announcer gave the cue I entered through the large double doors at the top of the stairs. Slowly, very slowly, I made my way down the stairs and to the king and queen.When I got there I was greeted warmly.

"Well done Lottie that was amazing."The queen exclaimed

"Yes well done Charlotte."The king said stiffly.

"Now go on, go and find Ellie and Jamie and they will show you what to do."

I nodded my head nervously and stepped out into the crowd I tried to look for Jamie or Ellie or even some of my other friends, but all I found was a smug Edmund Ashwick.

"Ah princess how are we. Well I hope."He bowed and I said

"Um yes but I need to find someone at the minute so if you'll excuse me.." I tried to leave but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"Where do you think your going? Huh?"

"She's coming to find me"I felt a hand on the small of my back and heard a familiar voice 

Jamie.

"Now if you could leave us a minute as I just need to discuss something with my princess."

Edmund slumped off while Jamie turned to me and asked,

"Are you ok Lottie, I mean he's not exactly the nicest person on the planet."

"Yeah I'm fine just a bit confused about what just happened."

"Good ok then I'm going to go then."

"What why?"I looked around and saw people pairing up to dance and it came to me, "You can't dance can you."

"No why would I be able to dance considering that parzians don't normally do a lot of dancing."

"Well I think it's about time you learned how to don't you"

"No"

"Well tough your going to, so put one hand on my back and the other in my hand and I will lead the dance."I placed his hands in the right places and the started dancing in time to the waltz music playing throughout the grand hall.

Jamie's P.O.V.

 I really can't dance at all, I just trip over my own feet no matter what style it is, so when Lottie told me I had to dance with her in front of everyone my stomach dropped. But the more I did it the more confident I felt, especially with Lottie. I don't think always realise how lucky I am to have a girl like that in my life because girls who care about themselves and other people can be rare but somehow I have one. Now I must lost concentration while dancing because as the music came to an end I tripped and took Lottie down with me which was embarrassing but not as embarrassing as the next thing which included Ellie.

"Um Lottie if you just try and push yourself up and then I can get out we should be fine."I said out of breath.

"I am trying you know I just can't do it."she said, flushed. Then Ellie came over and tried to help but just made it worse.

"Here let me help,"Ellie said coming over

"Um no Ellie honestly it's fine we can manage."

"No I insist"She tried to help but just made it worse and we ended up even more stuck.And as if by magic at that moment the king and queen came over to investigate.

"What on earth is going on?"the queen asked trying not to laugh

"Yes I would like to know that too.Well?"The king said

"Um well I can't dance and Lottie made me dance with her and I fell over and got stuck."

"Yeah."Lottie confirmed

"Well can you hurry up not being stuck, your getting an audience."

"Ok we need to get up, so if we just..."I said almost successfully getting up but Ellie came along and made everything weird.

"Here just let me help you. Ooofff"Ellie fellow top of us forcing Lottie's head down so her mouth was dangerously near mine but Ellie topped it all off when she fell sideways causing me and Lottie to collide and kiss. It couldn't have lasted too long but it lasted long enough for everyone to see it.

"Oh sorry Lottie, Jamie I didn't mean to do that it was an accident."

Ellie really did help me up then and immediately I went out of the room to stop all the stares. poor Lottie, she's still in there getting stared at for more than one reason. Curse you Ellie.
