Chapter 27

"They knew about the attack. Fuck, they're everywhere." Jason panted into the ear piece, feeling a bullet shoot across his arm, spewing blood on his bicep as he shot at several masked men coming at them.

The sting was not as intense as the pain which the gunshot had brought when Jason had gone to his first Cov Ops, but it still made him wince with every move he made with his arm, and that was proving to be highly annoying.

"You're all at the left staircase. You can hide behind the west wall." Tyler said in his ear and Jason saw Noah roll across the corridor, his knife hitting one of the men with an arquebes and then hiss into the ear piece.

"We don't fucking hide."

Jason shot at the men on his left and then heard Nathan grumble something about Noah.

Jason ran towards Logan and Hayden, covering his sides as he threw a grenade at the oncoming herd of madmen.

"Update, Boss? X?"

"I'm kinda alive too, thanks." Jason grumbled. "Fuck!" He yelled at the grenade coming at him and then held the small object, making sure to hold down the spoon to stop it from going off.

"I know you're alive, Cyan. Your dot is moving on my screen. I think there are more people coming from the east door. Check that out."

Jason ran towards the end of the corridor, looking at the group of women who were aiming their guns at Noah and then chucked the grenade at them, not even blinking as it went off and then he ran back towards his position, looking left and right as he covered Hayden's back and hid as the man in front of him shot wildly at Jason and Noah.

"We're kinda occupied right now." Noah gritted his teeth, throwing three knives at once towards the left side of Jason, which stuck directly into the growling men who were coming towards them with shotguns.

Hayden ducked as a bullet shot right past him and then yelled, "How do you even know, Trojan?!"

Logan shot several bullets on his left side, taking out new bullets and then looking at the oncoming people.

"Well, the east opening is right in front of their basement so I figured that they would have more men and women there as backup."

At that exact moment, more men filled in the almost full room, and Jason had no choice but to take shelter behind the west wall as uncountable shots were fired on them.

"And as usual, you're right." Logan frowned, concentrating hard as he threw two grenades on the crowd of men and women and then took cover as the bombs flew off.

He heard a soft voice whisper in his ear, the sound almost incoherent in the chaos and shouts, but Jason heard it nonetheless,
"Come on, guys. You can do this."

Jason found himself smiling a bit as he peeked from the east wall and then shot at two people who were aiming at him, and then passed his extra shotgun to Hayden who's own gun had slid on the ground, away from his reach.

Jason saw Logan looking at him and then nodded at the door behind the group of men.

Jason understood what he meant.

The people were standing in a defensive position, as if guarding that door.

Jason saw the men and women focusing on the other three members of Gray Dawn and he took a deep breath, moving stealthily towards the area in front of the door.

He pressed his back to the wall as he crouched slightly, jogging towards the marble door.

He saw Noah look at him with his blue contacts and he nodded, shooting a few times before gesturing with his hand.
