*One year ago*

The masked man walked in the dark alley, his lean frame huddled in a long coat, and a face mask obscuring the lower part of his face. Quick eyes flashed from under his hood, picking up the smallest of noises.

A second man trudged towards the masked man, his form pudgy and short, his bowler hat hiding half of his round, blotched face.

Both the men scanned each other's logos, confirming their origin and the shorter man trembled in the presence of a member of one of the most deadliest gangs in America.

"Where is he?" The masked man asked, his voice deep yet with a lively tone, yet the shorter man shook as he answered, "S-sir. I followed him until Leven Street but then I got a tail. Must be one of the man's gang members. And I didn't even have backup so I was forced to abort. But I do know that the guy is 6'2, hella tall. And he had dark hair, maybe dyed but he had on a hood so I couldn't see clearly. And I think I saw a tattoo of a skull around the front of his neck, I'm not sure though, it was too dark..." The man trailed off, gulping as the taller man frowned at him.

"Fine. Go back to your gang and alert everyone. We have to find that man. Pass on the info to every gang you can."

The masked man sat in his car, rubbing his eyes as he made a call.

The voice came after the first ring.

"Quaver?"

"Boss, I lost him."

"I know. There's been another one. At Leven Street. This one was nineteen years old. Name was Emma Lockwood. Raped and murdered. Marked with the same brand. This is getting out of hand."

"Goddamn, Boss. What do we do?" The masked man groaned, letting his hard demeanor slip while talking the man he trusted the most.

"Come back. I'm with Trojan and X right now. We'll solve this, Quaver. Don't worry. Get Blue Jay too."

He hung up and called another number, "Quaver?" The familiar voice said.

"Blue Jay. I'm coming to pick you up. Boss wants us."

*Same day, a few hours before*

Jason sat in his room, the moonlight making his small bedroom illuminated in the dark.

He cursed as the lights flickered and went out. For the third time in a row. And on the same day.

He sighed and got up, checking his mobile for the time and then smiling.

Just fifteen minutes till she gets here, he thought to himself and walked over to the small, dingy kitchen.

It was the first day of summer holidays, and Jason's sister, Emma, would be coming from college after a whole year.

Although she was older than Jason by two years, they had a very strong relationship and whenever the kids at Jason's highschool teased him for not having money(which happened a lot)his sister would always be there, just a call away.

And now he couldn't wait for her to come back home. To stay up all night with her and watch her favourite movies, which he hated but the mere smile on his sister's face made him feel complete.

He got to work in the kitchen, taking the chicken out and preparing to fry it and diced the vegetables as he hummed under his breath.

A knock made him look up and he almost jumped in happiness.

The light had not yet come but he could see very clearly with his mobile's flashlight and the little bit of moonlight coming from the open windows.
