You taint me with your
"Good intentions"
You'd look better if....
I'd prefer it if....
If you love me you would...
Forgive?
Forget?I transformed
From a malleable caterpillar
Into a beautiful butterfly
with its wings tied
You made it so I could not fly
From you
I became dependentI looked to you on how to dress
To eat
To breathe
Till I learned how to sneak
And weave masterful lies
Then punish myself
For not being strong enough
To fight
Or leave
Because
It must be my faultBut somewhere in the twisted web you spun
You became dependent too
And I took that chance
Closed my eyes
And I cut the strings that held my wings
And flew away
On the wind of your cries
If you loved me
You'd come back, he saidBut I never did.
