Mommy- Lindsey Way
Little- Gerard Way
Song- "Rhythm of Your Heart" by Marianas Trench

Gerard giggled excitedly as he scribbled messily over the coloring book page, waiting on Lindsey to get out of the shower, and come and go on a little picnic with him. He drew all over the picture of a princess, happily making her look pretty and "evil" as he put it.

After about fifteen minutes, Lindsey came from the shower, her hair in a towel and a long t-shirt on, knowing she'd get dressed later. "Hey, baby, did you have fun playing?" Lindsey asked him softly, leaning down and kissed his head.

Gerard nodded happily when she spoke, "I'd did, mommy, I drew pretty pictures!" Gerard told her, taking his small hand and holding onto her t-shirt, "We's gonna get dressed?" Gerard asked her sweetly, softly tugging on her shirt. He was excited, every time they had a picnic, something amazing happened and the small boy cherished every moment with his mommy.

Lindsey nodded softly, helping him off the floor, taking his hand and leading him upstairs, "Alright, little Bee, let's get you all dressed up for Mommy," Lindsey told him softly, picking him up and sitting him on the bed.

Gerard excitedly giggled, nuzzling against her hand as she pet him, "Wanna wear 's sweater!" Gerard told her, wiggling as she kissed his forehead.

Lindsey nodded, letting go of him, "Are you sure you want to wear a sweater? It's a little hot outside, sweets, " Lindsey told him softly, kissing his forehead.

Gerard, of course, nodded. He wanted a sweater, and he wouldn't care what he had to do to be allowed to wear it. "Mommy, that one!" He said happily, making grabby hands for his black batman sweater.

Lindsey sighed, getting it out, and handing it to him, "If you get hot, we can always change you, okay?" Lindsey reminded him, softly kissing his cheeks, before helping him put the sweater on. "What for bottoms, baby?"

Gerard crawled off the bed, and ran over to the closet, looking through it for a minute before pulling out a white skirt, "Can I wears this?" He asked her softly.

Lindsey loved seeing the small boy wear his skirts, except this one, was white. And they were going outside for a little picnic. And Gerard often played around in the dirt. A lot. Lindsey sighed softly, "Please not the white one, baby boy, we're a little messy," she told him, picking him out a little pair of pastel purple shorts and a Batman t-shirt, "What if you wore this? And we brought your sweater along?" Lindsey asked him, not wanting to upset him, because he did pick out a cute outfit, it was just a little warm, and a little not the right occasion.

Gerard nodded, instantly throwing off the sweater and putting on the outfit. "Do I's look cute?" Gerard asked her softly, making grabby hands up for her.

Lindsey nodded softly, "You always look cute, my precious baby, you can go pack two toys and a pacifier for the picnic," Lindsey told him, getting down his little backpack and giving it to him. Lindsey kisses his forehead and patted his bottom as he ran off. She quickly got dressed, her gray flowered shirt and bleached shorts fitting on her perfectly.

She went downstairs to find Gerard on the couch, two stuffies in his arms, waiting for her. Lindsey helped him up off the couch, and softly kissed his forehead. "let's go, sweetheart," she said softly, going into the kitchen. Before Gerard caught up with her, she slipped a thing of bubbles into the picnic basket, having the blanket over the basket, letting Gerard carry his toys in his backpack.

They walked out through the garden, and into the woods, looking for a place to sit and play on their warm sunny day.

Gerard ran ahead of her, not wanting to use the same spots they had before, so they went deeper and deeper into the woods. Lindsey enjoyed it though, the few cool moments of shade as they walked, seeing all the little animals and plants.

She picked a couple of flowers, tucking them into Gerard's hair when he came back around her, always leaving the choice of where they sat up to him.

Eventually, the small boy gasped, running back to her, and grabbing her arm. "Mommy! We's gotta sit here!" Gerard told her happily, pulling her to a spot under a big maple tree, jumping up and down underneath it.

Lindsey smiled, and tucked her last flower into his hair, "Such a good boy, this is so pretty!" She told him softly, unfolding the blanket out under the tree. Gerard giggled and nodded, sitting down on the blanket right beside her. She pulled out their sandwiches, chips, a little insulated bag of drinks, and cookies.

Gerard giggled loudly when she gave him a cookie before anything else, munching on it as he watched. She also pulled out the bubbles, handing them to him, causing him to giggle more and cheer, "Thankie mommy!" He said happily, nuzzling against her chest before getting up, and uncapping the bubbles. The small boy blew them in the light breeze, chasing them around and smiling happily as he played with the bubbles.

Once his tummy rumbles, he sat back down beside his mommy, nuzzling into her shoulder, "Thankie, mommy," Gerard said softly, taking the freshly poured Sprite in a Sippy cup away from her.

Lindsey gave him a sandwich, kissing his cheek, "you're such a good boy, baby," Lindsey told him softly, eating her own sandwich as Gerard ate his.

Gerard threw the crusts to the birds, lightly giggling as he played with his stuffed animals on the blanket, playing in the sunshine when that got boring, and eventually retiring away onto Lindsey's lap, laying against her.

"I love you, mommy," Gerard whispered to her softly, nuzzling against her shoulder, "I love you so so much," he added.

Lindsey smiled and kissed the top of his head, "I love you so so much more," she promised him softly, rubbing his back as they laid underneath the tree together.
