"Wait... an S class mission?" Kayla squeaked out once Laxus placed a sheet of paper in front of her with a cocky grin on his face. Where Kayla was from, S-Class missions didn't really exist, anyone was able to do any mission so Mirajane had told Kayla exactly what S class missions were when she first joined the guild, and explained that only S-class mages or teams accompanied by an S-class mage were allowed to go on them to to how dangerous they normally are.

"Of course. An S-class mission is the only way you'll be able to properly prove yourself to me. After all, I am an S-class wizard."

There goes Kayla's argument about having to have an S-class wizard, she silently stared at the request letting Evergreen drag her to the group, she never actually said anything about wanting to join the Thunder Legion. She looked at the request on the paper, apparently it was beating down some dark guild— she scanned the paper quickly for a name, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding when she spotted what she was looking for. Luckily she didn't recognize the name of the guild, Phoenix End. She glanced down at the rewards and had to stop herself from showing her surprise. 5,000,000 jewel. If split equally that would be 100,000 jewel per person on the team. Whoever sent the request must really want them gone.

"Apparently it's a Dark Guild goes around burning down villages claiming that they're purging the world for the Dark Wizard Zeref, this request comes from the magic council themselves." Laxus said, "The Request is just beating the guild down so the council can come in and arrest them and their master. It shouldn't be too hard for a newbie like you. Though could always back out and join Salamander and his crew of weaklings if you're too scared."

Kayla looked from the paper to him. She might of not wanted to join his group at first, but his taunt made her grit her teeth and feel the want to prove herself. "No way am I going to back out." She responded. "When do we leave?"

Laxus smiled, and Kayla saw the others of the Thunder Legion smile as well. "Now." He stood up and started walking out of the guild hall, glancing over his shoulder, "You'd better not fall behind, newbie."

Kayla jumped up from her seat in a slight panic and ran after them, running past a shirtless boy with black hair. She easily caught up to them and glanced up at Laxus, who looked in front of him with a neutral look, which unfortunately for him made him look like he was angry at everything he was looking at.

"Their guild isn't too far from Magnolia town. So we'll be walking there." Laxus said simply, much to Kayla's relief. Whenever she was out on supervised missions that they had to go by train, she was always out of commission with motion sickness. Motor transportation— or any vehicle for that matter was her downfall.

"Is it because it's close or because of your motion sic—" Bickslow started, only to be cut off by a glare from Laxus. Bickslow just let out a manic laugh, sticking his tongue out.

He gets motion sickness too? Is it a Dragon Slayer thing? Kayla thought to herself. Since her Dragon Slayer magic was sealed, she was unaware if she would still have motion sickness, though even then she was quietly relieved that they wouldn't be taking the train.

"We'll get to a nearby town by nightfall." Laxus told them, breaking Kayla out of her thoughts. "Once we're there we'll find an inn to sleep in for the night and for a plan in the morning."

"Yes sir!" The group other than Kayla responded.

"I Didn't hear you, newbie." Laxus said, glancing down at Kayla

"Oh, um, Yes sir!" Kayla said, looking up at Laxus who just grunted and looked away from her, leaving Kayla to walk with the group in silence.

Exactly as Laxus said, the five of them got to the town just as the moon was rising over the horizon. Kayla followed the rest of them to an inn not too far into the town, they got room, each of them pitching in for three separate rooms. Laxus was going to get his own room while Freed and Bickslow were going to share and Evergreen and Kayla were going to share. For some reason, Freed was slightly disappointed at the arrangements.

"Alright everyone. Get some rest, we start planning first thing in the morning." Laxus commanded.

"Yes sir!" The group shouted, Kayla managing to join in with them, and with that, everyone went to their rooms.

Once they entered the room, Kayla realized that she didn't have time to pack any pajamas. She looked towards Evergreen before quickly looking away, her cheeks warming up quickly, the older woman was only in her undergarments. Evergreen seemed to see the expression on Kayla's face and let out a chuckle, but she didn't say anything.

Kayla just stayed silent and shuffled towards her side of the room, grateful that there were two beds instead of one. She knew that sleeping in her armor wouldn't be comfortable, but there was no way she was stripping down to her undergarments like Evergreen had. Suddenly, she was extremely relieved that the black material under her armor was a full suit even under the armor. Taking off her boots and gloves, she got into the bed, seeing that Evergreen had already gotten into the other bed and was already asleep.

Kayla looked up at the ceiling, thinking about what could happen the following day. Who knew what was going to happen.
