Bella Turns 9

Thursday, December 15th
I got ready for school as always and it didn't really hit me that it was my birthday. It just felt like a regular day I guess. I brushed my teeth and went downstairs for some food because boy was I starving!
"Happy birthday Bella!" Mommy and Noah said.
"Thank you." There were purple balloons all over and it made me smile.
"What do you want for breakfast?"
"Some buttery chocolate chip pancakes." It was quite early so she had the time to make them.
"Surprised you didn't say cupcake this year."
"People change Noah," Mommy said. I sat in my special chair and looked at the presents near me.
"Wanna open a few while you wait for your food?"
"Sure,"
"Open the big one Bella." I opened it and it was a scooter! I couldn't use it yet but I couldn't wait! My other scooter kind of broke...but let's not study that!
"Thank you Mommy!"
"You're welcome, treat this scooter better. Understand?"
"I will, I promise I will!" I put the box down and opened a smaller gift.
"From Alex. I'm so excited to open it Mommy!"
"Open it then, silly." In the box was some American girl doll sets and chocolates!
"You have to tell her thank you when you get home from school babes."
"Okay, one more before I eat my food! There's so many presents! This one is from Uncle Fin,"
"I totally know what it is," Noah said.
"Mommy! It's the shoes I wanted! I really, really wanted them! I'm gonna put them on right now! They match with my theme!"
"And they're a perfect fit."

School
I thought that at school things would be a bit calmer but boy was I wrong! At school there were so many candies in my mailbox and Kylie has given me a personal gift too!
"Thank you so much!"
"You're welcome, you gave me a cool birthday present when it was my birthday and now it's your turn."
"Happy Birthday Bella!" My teachers said.
"Thank you guys so much!" Axel came into the room with a gift and gave it to me.
"Happy birthday!"
"Thank you." I smiled lightly and looked at the box. I really felt super special, like this was really my day.
"Happy birthday Bella!" Penelope said.
"Thank you!"
"So Bella was thinking after her party that she'd have a sleepover at her house."
"Do you wanna come too Penelope? I think I can bring like one more person."
"I'll ask my Mom. She might not let me though,"
"Okay," I felt kind of sad because I wanted Penelope to be there too, shes my friend also! I hope her Mama says yes. It was so hard to concentrate on the lesson because I was so excited for my Shopkin's party.
"Bella? What does it mean to compare and contrast?"
"Ohh..I forgot."
"Pay attention. Now, we're going to continue writing our topic essays. You guys will have 45 mins and then I'll chose some scholars to share out." My essay was about my family. I hoped she didn't pick me because I was a bit embarrassed to talk about my family, because we're a bit of a different one. Kids would ask me questions sometimes and I don't know how to answer them. I continued to write until the time was up and laughed at the memories that were in my story.

The Living Room (Olivia's Perspective)
"Mommy, you're home quite early!"
"Well hello to you too birthday girl." I laughed and sat down.
"How about you go change out of your school clothes and come here so we can open a few more presents? You should save some for
Christmas."
"Okay, I'll be right back." I gave Lucy a hug and a kiss as she was leaving. Mommy let her go early so we could spend time together. I changed into some shorts and a tank top and went downstairs to my Mommy. Noah was there too and we talked.
"How was your day?"
"Good, I got so many gifts and candies."
"Lucky."
"Hey Mom?"
"Yeah?"
"This was a good birthday. I got cool gifts and we're just gonna stay inside and play and eat Chick Fil-A."
"And you're having a party."
"That too,"
"You're getting so tall! Oh my goodness." The doorbell rang and I went to go see who it was.
"Hi Alex!"
"I know someone here ordered Chick Fil-A!"
"Yay! Mommy come!" She came downstairs and gave Alex a hug and a kiss.
"Happy birthday Bella!"
"Thank you! And thanks for the gift! It was cool and yummy."
"I'm glad you loved it! Now, how about we eat some dinner?"
"Yes ma'am!" I said. She laughed and I helped set the table.
"Why are you setting the table for fast food babe?" Mommy asked.
"I just wanted to help."
"You're too sweet. It's your birthday honey! Let us serve you."
"Alex, you know that I'm gonna do a gymnastics competition for the first time next year!"
"Really? That's so cool!" I munched on the fries and dipped another in barbecue.
"I'm gonna have special outfit right Mommy?"
"Yes you will."
"Hey, What about me?" Noah said. I gave him a kiss and sat back down.
"See, she payed attention to you." I sat crisscross applesauce in my chair and opened another present just because.
"Clothes from Uncle Carisi. He gave me a skirt and a top!"
"Let me see! How cute." The doorbell rung again and I wondered who it was this time around.
"Who else is coming?"
"Maybe it's a package, let me answer it baby." I sat down as my mother went to go answer the door. Alex put her arms around me and she tickled me.
"Hehehe." Noah tickled me too and they held me in one place. I couldn't escape!

The Foyer (Olivia's Perspective)
"I got a package for Olivia Benson."
"That's me."
"Okay, sign right here and I'll be on my way."
"Yes sir, thank you so much." I signed and closed the door. I went back into the kitchen to see my kids and Alex playing around.
"Who's the package for Mom?"
"Me. I don't remember ordering anything." I sliced it open with a knife and the words on top of a box inside the package nearly sent me into hysterics.
"Alex, we need to speak."
"What's wrong?" The kids looked at me as we went up to my room.
"Elliot?! After all of these years? Well open it why don't you?" I took a deep breath and opened the box.
Elliot's Letter
Yes, I know it's been years since I left SVU. I didn't mean to leave the way I did. I wanted to tell you, but the timing wasn't right. I couldn't take it anymore. I just had to leave, and as quickly as I could. I was finally able to track you down the other day and I was wondering if you could meet up with me at the Starbucks on 80th. Figure we talked things out? Meet me there at 1:30 The 16th.
I ripped it up and put it down.
"What did it say Liv?"
"This son of a bitch leaves and doesn't attempt to contact me for 9 years and then suddenly tries to do this on my daughter's birthday?! I'm not having it."
"Mommy..." Bella came in quietly and I gave her a hug. You look so angry, what happened?"
"It's adult business, don't worry about it my love. You're not in any trouble."
"Your Mom's right honey. You're not in any trouble."
"Is the gift for me?"
"I have to check and see. Okay?" She nodded and didn't complain.
"Can Alex and I have some privacy just for a moment?"
"Okay, I'm gonna go in my room."
"Thanks for being understanding sweetheart."
"You should meet up with him." Alex said once she left.
"Let's see about that."

Bedtime (Bella's Perspective)
After taking my night shower I decided to write in the journal that I share with Mommy.
Bella's Journal Entry
This was a really great birthday because I got such cool presents! I can't wait till I turn ten because double digits sounds so cool and like independent. But other than that stuff, I can't wait for my party on Saturday! Are you sure you can stay the whole time? Because if you have to work I'll understand. I'll just be a bit sad that's all.

Chase licked me and I giggled.
"Why did you lick my leg you silly boy?!" I scratched behind his ear and he got excited! That's his favorite scratching spot in the entire world! I scratched him for a while before he sat on my lap.
"Hey birthday girl!" Mommy said.
"Hey,"
"You sound a bit down. I just wanted to talk to you a bit before you had to go to sleep."
"I'm all ears."
"I know you might've heard what I said to Alex today and I want you to know that there's nothing to be afraid of. Okay? Mommy isn't angry with you at all, it's just adult things. Okay?"
"Okay. I wasn't scared, just worried because you seemed up."
"Don't worry about me. I'm fine. I'm sorry that happened." I gave her a hug and we hugged for a long time. It just felt nice to get a hug from someone who loved me. Despite my birthday being on a school day, it was still really cool and I wouldn't change it for anything!
"It's time for bed kiddo." I went under the covers and looked at my mother.
"I suppose you don't want to be tucked in."
"You can tuck me in if you wanna. I don't care much Mom." She tucked me in and gave me a kiss.
"Good Night."
"Night Mom."
"Happy birthday."
"Thanks." I closed my eyes and started to dream about my epic party on Saturday. What could possibly go wrong?
