Santana, Britt, Artie and Cedes bombard me at my locker, informing me of the party that Rachel Berry is hosting on Saturday, "It sounds awful. Is anybody going?"
"Let me find out," Tana reassures as I pull out my phone from my back pocket.
Artie sees Tana texting Mike and Tina, "Tell them I'll go if they go."
"Tell them yourself. I ain't no pony express. You're going, right?" Tana asks me, her eyes pleading for me to go.
Despite her and I getting in a fight a few weeks back, we're friends again. Or as close to being friends as she and I can ever be, considering that more than half the time we want to kill each other over something. She explained to me why she freaked out about Puck and I assured her that I wasn't trying to take her man, it sorta just happened that way.
I laugh as I shut my locker, reluctantly agreeing to attend the party that was inevitably going to end badly, "Only if there's liquor, because a Rachel Berry party is not something I can do sober."
"But it's Alcohol Awareness Week," Britt reminds me, innocently.
I smirk at them as I take my phone out of my pocket, "Precisely. And I am aware of how much fun alcohol is. Let's ask Puckerman."
It rings for 3 seconds before he picked up, "You're go for Puck."
"Noah, it's me, Santittany and Artcedes. Can your friend score us some wine coolers?"
He thinks it over, leaving me to listen to the steady rhythm of his breathing, "No, but his I. D. can. Well, if we're all in, it's settled."
"The Rachel Berry house party train wreck extravaganza is officially a go," I finish for him. We stay on the line, discussing the plans for Saturday.
Saturday evening, Puck picked me up before my brothers and Blaine left. When I ran down the stairs, I met eyes with Blaine, who was smirking at my attempt to escape my brother's torment regarding Puck... and because they don't exactly know he and I are whatever we are. Jumping into the passenger seat, cackling like a maniac, Puck gives me a 'who-is-this-girl' look before driving us to Rachel's house.
When we go downstairs, to where Rachel is holding the party, everyone except my brothers and Blaine was here, looking bored out of their minds. I gravitate to Cedes and Tina, who're talking about the latest thing Mike did to annoy her.
"Welcome. Kurt. Blaine. I wasn't expecting you guys," Rachel squeaks as they descend the stairs to this amazing party.
Finn sees me on the couch with Cedes and Tina, cocking an eyebrow at me, probably because I left my car in the driveway and he's curious on who drove me here, "Kurt's been blackmailing me ever since he saw my browser history. He kind of insisted on coming."
Finn pushes past Rachel to talk to Sam and Puck, leaving Blaine and Kurt on the stairs alone with Rachel, "I'm totally off the clock right now, Rachel. I'm not a Warbler. I'm just Blaine. I'm not even wearing my uniform. So, this is your dads' Oscar room."
"Yes. They transformed our ordinary basement for our famous annual Oscar parties."
Kurt walks over to Cedes and I to give us each a hug, noticing the oddest part about the room, "Is that a stage?"
The hostess shrugs, "I kinda like to give impromptu performances for our neighbors sometimes. Let's go over the rules. Everybody gets two drink tickets to keep things from getting out of hand. We are serving wine coolers today. That is our specialty drink. It's actually all we have. Brittany! Remember the rules. No sitting on anything. Okay, everybody. Cheers!"
