"Hey Finn, tell me a joke," Mike asked after Mr. Schue and Puck finished singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

"Your love life," Finn spits without second thought, shocking the both of us.

I burst out laughing as Mike punched him in the arm. I thought of a really stupid one, "Why don't dinosaurs talk?.... Because they're dead."

Mike and Finn chuckle but mostly they cringe at the stupidity and horrible quality of the joke. Mike laughs, "That was horrible. I've got one that will make you laugh. What's the difference between bird flu and swine flu?"

Finn and I shrug, waiting for the answer as the three of us turn to leave the room."If you have bird flu, you need tweet-ment. If you have swine fly, you need oink-ment."

With that Finn and I left Glee laughing our butts off at Mike's joke when I walked into a hard body. I stumbled back into Finn, who caught me, as I looked up to see who I ran into.

"Kaydon?"

He smiled at me after quickly looking at Finn, "Hey, Lia."

He goes in for a hug but I take Finn by the wrist and drag him to the parking lot, hearing him yell behind us, "You can't just avoid me. And if he's the one who replaced me then I don't approve. There can only be one comically tall friend and that's me."

Once we get to the parking lot and I take a second to silently panic, Finn looks back over his shoulder and begins to laugh loudly like he'd heard a silent joke. "Did he just call me comically tall? And did he just reject me?"

I think it over, realizing that Kaydon did indeed say that, and I too join in with his laughter, "Oh my goodness, he did say that. Yikes."

"Wow, I can't believe that he doesn't approve of me," he whines as if Kaydon's opinion matters.

I roll my eyes, unlocking the car, deciding to mess with him, "Yeah, I'm sorry but I guess that we have to break up. If he doesn't approve, we can't be friends. But I'm still living at your house though."

"But Lees, we're soulmates. Best friend soulmates. If we break up, my life will be dull and without meaning. You're my person, Xaellia Caroline Torres. So pick me, choose me, love me," he begs, quoting Grey's Anatomy.

I pretend to think it over, barely holding in my giggles, then shrug, "Okay, I guess we're still best friends. You are my person too."

The nightmares of how I've been guessing how my mom got hurt in the line of duty haven't stopped. All they told me was that she got hurt in country then due to her injuries died in a medically induced coma because of how severely brain damaged she was. Every night, I wake up screaming and crying and can't fall back asleep without Finn comforting me. I feel horrible that I keep him up with my cries but I'm so grateful for him.

This afternoon he sat me down in his dad's chair, the sacred chair, "Just listen to the words."

Finn:

Woah, woah
Woah, woah
Woah, woah
The sun will still shine tomorrow
So it's time for moving on
There's not a second for sorrow
Even though the moments gone
The puzzle has so many pieces
But you can't, you can't hide
'Cause life just keeps on living
And sooner or later you'll find
This is not the end, no
Your day is gonna come
This is not the end, no
You're not the only one
We all have our ups and all have our downs
But we have to find a way around
This is not the end, no, no, oh, oh, oh
This is not the end

Woah, woah
No, I know it's never easy
To pick yourself up again
But take a deep breath 'cause you know that
It's time to look ahead
'Cause one foot in front of other
And you can, you can fly
Into a better tomorrow
And leave yesterday behind
This is not the end, no
Your day is gonna come
This is not the end, no
You're not the only one
We all have our ups and all have our downs
But we have to find a way around
This is not the end, no, no, oh, oh, oh
This is not the end

Oh, oh, oh
Don't ever give up, no
Oh, oh, oh
It's just a start now

We all have our ups and all have our downs
But we have to find a way around
This is not the end, no, no, oh, oh, oh
This is not the end

Woah, woah

With the last note, my tears silently rolled down my cheeks.  "Lia," he mumbles into my hair after wrapping me in his arms, "I love you. You are my best friend and I am so grateful that you moved here because this year would have been so much crazier without you. You were there for me when we thought that Beth was my kid, so I'm going to be here for you in this. I know that this is so hard and painful for you but this isn't the end of you, it sucks but it's life. Me and Mr. Schue, Mercedes, Kurt and Mike will all be there for you every step of the way. Whatever you need, I'm there because it's you and me till the end. You're more than my best friend, you're like the sister I never had."

Carole walks into the living room, witnessing the entire scene. She sets her purse down and walks over to us. She quietly takes our hands and smiles at us, "Which is why Lia, I wanted to ask you if you wanted me to become your legal guardian?"

"Are you kidding?" I gasp, shocked by the question.

Finn's huge smile becomes brighter as his mom nods at me. She tucks a loose curl behind my ear, "Yeah, only if you want me to though. I know how much you love Finn and you're like the daughter I always wanted. You wouldn't have to call me Mom or anything, you can still call me Carole-"

I cut her off by wrapping my arms tightly around her, crying, "Yes! Oh my God yes! Thank you so much! I love you guys so much!"

"Now you can never break up with me, little sis," Finn laughed as Carole went to start dinner.

"I'm older than you, by like two months," I remind him, plopping down on the couch and turning on a baseball game. "And I could still break up with you. It would just be very awkward considering the fact that we live together."

"I choose to believe that you'll never break up with me. You wanna know why?" He asks, taking the remote from me to turn the volume up.

"Why? Because we're best friend soulmates?" I taunt, remembering what he said in the car on the last day of school.

Finn pulled a piece of blue string out of his pocket and ties it to my wrist then showing me that he has a matching piece, "Yes! And that's my way of showing everyone our best friendship because I'm broke and don't know how to make bracelets."

I look down at it, tightening the knot he made, chuckling, "Okay, cool. As long as you don't end up giving one of these to Broadway or Mike then I'm cool with it."

"Duh," he laughed as the doorbell rang. "Speaking of Rachel, she's here."

"Damn, now I got to be nice," I snicker as he goes to open the door.

"When are you ever nice?"

"Touché."
