The ending to peace.

Chapter 9: the next events

The white light was blinding. It took my eyes a second to get back to normal. When my eyes finally adjusted , I saw people who where conscience wake up, and people who had wounds no longer have any more.

“What was that?” I inquired

“We won. We won, for the first time in 3 years. What did you say?” said Artemis in a trance

“What was that light?” I said again

“Oh that. That was the light of healing. It heals all of us, half bloods, no matter the wound even death. It is believed that an archangel makes it every time the war game is over.” said Artemis

“Then why was I told not to kill?” I asked

“Because it is very weird feeling to die and come back to life.” said Artemis.

“Okay. so, this is the first time we have won in a long time.” I said

“Yes, it is. Usually I am the last of us to get beat, but with you we were able to win. Thank you for helping me win against Brittany. “

“Your welcome. Was that the girl with the dirty dishwasher blonde hair with the two guys?”

‘Yeah, she is the champion of the camp. If we ever have to go on a quest she gets to go and pick whoever she wants to go with her. She and her two friends Jacob who you hit in the groin, and Brian, the other guy, are bullies at the camp.”

“So, how does one become the champion? And we showed that bully who is boss hugh.”

“You become the champion by defeating the previous one. Yeah we did but she is probably pissed because the newbie beat her.”

“Maybe I should become champion and that will show I am not a newbie.” I said while laughing for no reason. Then I saw my friends walk by. Sabin winked at me while Artemis was picking up a knife she dropped. Then he mouthed something along the lines of nice or he mouthed rice. Then the trio kept walking.

“You can try tomorrow, which is friday. by the way.” she said Artemis with a rare smile.

“I can’t wait.” The whole day Artemis and I talked. She explained why we do not use guns against our enemies. I guess something in our blood keeps gunpowder from burning. then she explained how we kill monsters. She says that our weapons have a magical metal in them which is used by angels in there swords. I think she said it was called moonlight steel or was it angelic steel either way its very useful.

Then I think we came to a sore subject, I came to this conclusion because the smile on her face disappeared.  I asked why she didn’t tell me her real name. She told me that she couldn’t bring herself to say it. It reminded her of her old life, when she had a mortal dad and a family. She told me a man with a black sword with red writings on it had killed her mom, dad, sister, grandparents and anyone else who was related to her. The same man who killed my mom, we both had the same enemy, this man who destroyed our lives. Then after that she cried on my shoulder for an hour and I tried to comfort her to no success.

Then she went to bed and I stayed up staring at the lake near the camp. The I saw a man with blond hair walk towards the lake and touch the water with his finger. The second he touched it the water shoot up in the air, it changed into a shape of a coffin with chains on it, the it reformed to show a desert that had fire coming of the cracks of the earth. Then the water changed to the most shocking thing yet. It was me fighting my friend Kevin. He was holding the sword that killed my mom that killed Artemis’s family. Keven had did it. Then the stranger took his finger of the water and vanished.

The rest of the night I couldn’t sleep. I could not figure out who that man was. Was he an angel, a magician (Artemis say still exist and use real magic), or was it someone trying to make me betray my friends. The whole night I kept thinking. What was that place I saw, what was the coffin and who was in it, why was it chained and locked, and how far into the future did I see.
