I saw all of the camp in the strategy I created at camp. It was working great. I could see the front lines holding up from teens and monsters. George was doing good at keeping the front lines disciplined. I saw Brittany leading the elites. My camp was doing great, they were the perfect distraction.
While Artemis was looking at the army, I charged with my sword raised. Kevin looked at me right before he put the key in the lock, then he smiled. He put the key in and turned it. I heard a click and the chains were slowly retracting. There was still a chance to stop it. I ran to the lock but Kevin was in the way.
“You are alive” said Kevin shocked
“You can not get rid of me that easily.”
“True, but I will finish you here with the blade that killed your mother.” Then he pulled the blade out and it made a hissing sound as it came out of its sheathe. “It’ name is reaper.”
“Reaper, really.” I needed to keep him talking so he would lower his defences.”
“I did not name it. It is an ancient sword. Now you will feel it’s metal again.” Then he slashed at me a I barely deflected it. I tried to cut him with a counter attack but I failed. He was light speed fast, and I was lightning fast. I was ten times slower.
I get a chance to see where Artemis was and I see her fighting some locust.
“Forget about her, Michael. You both will die.” said Kevin as he tried to stab me. I deflected it. Then he stepped back and said, “Why not surrender? You do not have any one you love left.”
“I have my friends.” I said
“You mean George, Nate, and Sabin. The same friends who left us all the time to chase after girls?” said Kevin in a mocking voice. “They are not true friends.”
“I have Artemis and Brittany.”
“The girl you have mixed feelings for.” Then Kevin laughed. “Nothing will ever happen Michael. You know that. And Brittany is just a jerk. Who do you have that you Love” He said emphasizing the word love.
“IhaveEmma.” I mumbled very quietly.
“What was that?” said Kevin in a mocking voice, putting a hand to his ear mocking.
“I have Emma!” I yelled
“Emma? The girl who disappeared without a goodbye. That Emma?”
“Yeah.”
“She is gone Michael. Even though I am going to kill you, I still think of you as a friend.”
“Maybe but she is still out in this world somewhere.”
“Michael she left you, get over it!”
“I know I just can’t stop thinking about her, about the last time I saw her.”
“You mean the time where she said she loved you?”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t worry Michael, that sadness will go away quickly if you just give up and let me kill you.”
“Never.” I said. That is when I started to glow bright white. “What is going on.” I said staring at my hands.
“The gift of angels.” whispered Kevin
