A ceiling fan was shaking and making a brmm, brmm,brmm noise. That was the first thing I saw when I woke up. I look around and see Artemis sleeping on a chair next to the bed. The room was very nice. A brown color, with the one chair and the bed. What made the place nice was an ocean view from a window. Where am I? I thought. I tried to get up but my chest was sore and I yelped in pain. I fell back onto the bed and looked at my chest. I didn’t have my shirt on (but my pants were. There were bandages around my chest. I could see that parts of the bandages were soaked with blood. I was stabbed by Kevin I remembered.
I tried to get up again but it hurt worse this time. I grunted in pain, but wouldn’t lay back down. Apparently my grunts woke Artemis up, cause she woke up and saw me trying to get up. “Michael. You're alive. Thank God. Sit down you are still injured.”
“I am fine” I grunted just as I stood up straight.
“Michael, you almost died.”
“The key word is almost.”
“Michael you had me scared to death. Please sit down, for me.” Artemis pleaded with a sad face. I looked at her and I could see her eyes were red from crying.
“Alright but you have to answer my questions.” I said while sitting down. Then Artemis sat next to me.
“Alright” she said
“Where are we?”
“Toby’s house. He healed you with a power that he gets from being the keeper, but you still have to rest..”
“Is the key safe.”
That is when I saw a expression on her face that told me,no.
“When did we lose it?”
“Right before we got here. Toby said Kevin tricked him and stole it.”
“How was he tricked?”
“Kevin pretend to be the champion of the camp and said he wanted to make sure it was safe and when he saw it he took it and escaped with the locust.”
“Dammit “ I said. Then my chest started to hurt. Artemis saw the look on my face and gave me a hug.
“You will heal, just give it time. We leave to fight another day.”
“We can not think like that. We can still stop Kevin.I am going to go. Are you going to go with me” I said
“Yes. I will.”
“Great we will leave in a little bit.” Then Brittany walked in.
“Are you okay?” Brittany asked
“Sore, but I will leave.” I said
“Thats good. So we are heading to death valley. Sorry I eavesdropped.”
“No you are not going. You are going back to camp”
“Why? You should be going back!”
“ You need to send a message an army to go to Death Valley, so we have back up. If we can’t stop Kevin then at least I can try to kill him and if I lose then at least I softened him up.”
“That won’t work. Only a child of an archangel can defeat Abaddon.” said a man standing at the door. “My name is Toby, I presume your name is Michael.”
“Yeah it is.”
Then he pulled a glass bottle with a cork on the top. It was filled with a purple substance. “Here drink this. It will completely heal you.”
I take it and drink it. Instantly my chest was no longer sore. “Thanks. By the way, I am the son of Gabriel. “
“Oh I see. I guess that is why Rick let you go.”
“Yeah now Brittany go to camp.” I said very commanding.
“Alright, I will see you later. The two of you behave yourselves.” Then she grabbed a teleorb and smashed it in her palm and disappeared.
“Well how do we get there?” asked Artemis
“I do not know.”
“I can give you my car. I hope that will redeem myself”
“What kinda car?” I asked
“It is an old-fashioned bug. It is orange and has a black stripe down the middle.It also is invisible to mortals. It also has a super fast engine and an ipod dock.”
“Thanks but we do not have an ipod.”
“Well I figure you would get bored without one so you can have mine. But it only has music like Skillet, thousand foot krutch and Disciple.”
“That is fine I love that music.” I said
“I like any music so I don’t care.” said Artemis
“Great you should probably get going.”
“You want to get rid of us don’t you.” I said
“Yep.” Toby said “Now get out.” The he threw us the keys and the small gold nano ipod. I caught the stuff and Artemis and I walked out, saying bye.
“Who is driving?” asked Artemis
“I will.”
“I thought you didn’t know how to drive?”
“I just wanted Brittany to drive.” I said with a grin.
