The ending to peace.

Chapter 10: the next day

Happy Birthday 2metome, I decided to post this early.

Theonlyhi is saying bye.......for now

The next morning I was able to sleep in till nine, because breakfast didn’t start till 9:30, also because there were no war games today. The war games I learned are only on tuesdays and thursdays. But today I can challenge the champion every friday. When I got up I had fried chicken for breakfast. I know what you are thinking You can’t have fried chicken for breakfast. Well I do not like breakfast.

After breakfast, Artemis and I went to monster class. Sabin, Nate, and George ditched us for some girls they met and no longer talk to us unless the girls are not around.

When we arrived at the class, I saw Rick teaching this class. Behind him was a chalk board with a picture of a monster on the board. Around him were were several benches, Artemis and I were the last to show up.

“Good morning class” said Rick.

“Good morning,Rick” we all said except Brittany and her two friends.

“Today, we are going to talk about the locust. Not the bugs, but the creatures controlled by the powerful demon Abaddon. His name means the destroyer. His locust are already here, but one day they will be seen and attack everyone who does not have the mark during the end of the world. These creatures are very dangerous. They have wings like a bat, the face of a human, the body of a human, long hair like a womans or like a guy with long hair. They had scales on their legs and they also had gold armor on their chest. They also had a scorpion's tail with the stinger. If you were to get stung, you will have extreme amount of pain, more than you will ever experience in your life. You will wish to seek death, but it will never come until the poison is out of you. It might be painful, but if you are about to die, the poison could save your life.” said Rick.

Every one was paying attention except the champion and the two. Rick continued to talk about that they will kill our kind with spears that are the length of an arrow.

After that we went to lunch. Someone said it was the 13th of september. Then they started singing happy birthday and we all ate cake.

After lunch  Artemis and I went to weapon practice. She went and practiced her archery and knife skills while I was practicing sword skills with some random kid. After that they asked everyone,if anyone wanted to challenge the champion. I looked around to see if anyone wanted to, no one raised their hand.  So I raised my hand and walked forward. I then heard Artemis say” MIchael don’t. She is good and you just got here.” I ignored her and continued.

Before I could get on stage Artemis went up. and said “I wish to challenge you.”

I could see Brittany smile and reply “Wonderful, another way to make you look like a fool.”

Then they pulled out their weapons and got ready to fight each other. Rick counted to down from three, the second he finished one, Artemis leaped forward and tried to get the blade of her knife has close as she could to Brittany’s throat. But Brittany was lightning fast, the second she saw Artemis go forward she ducked and put the pommel of her sword into Artemis’s gut. I could hear her groan in pain, her eyes watered, her face should pain, then it turned to anger. Artemis swung her blades as fast as she could, each swing could barely be seen, they looked like flashes of light, cause the sun reflected off of the blades. But  no matter how fast she went, Brittany blocked them and was able to make a counter strike. Artemis’s anger made it too easy to win. Then Brittany hit Artemis’s is the chest three times in a row, then cut her cheek. Then as a final show of her superiority put the blade to Artemis’s throat, and said ”Will any one else challenge me?”

I could see pain and anger in Artemis’s face, I had to win so I said “I will challenge you.” and I walked forward. Brittany threw Artemis to the ground and laughed.

“You, You think you can beat me? You are a noob.” she said. I helped Artemis up.

She whispered in my ear, “Caca pants, its better to be a coward than a loser.”

I replied “I will not lose.” Then I walk up to Brittany, letting my shield and sword appear in my hands. I waited till Rick counted down, I was waiting in a ready position, while brittany was slouching. She was too prideful I noticed. When Rick finishing saying one, I raised my shield to my body to protect it from any blows. Brittany walked forward and kicked my feet, I stumbled but stayed up. I swung my sword with my one hand available and and deflected it and made a counter strike. I blocked it and swung again. This time she rolled to my left and tripped me with her feet sending me to the ground. I could hear the crows laugh, I looked over and I saw the mysterious man and he mouthed forget the shield, you will be faster and better.

I told my shield to disappear, then I got up and heard Brittany say,“You want more?”

“Yeah.” I said flatly. Then I sung my sword as fast as I could,  I noticed that without my shield I was more maneuverable. I knew she would block my attack but I had a plan. The second her blade came in contact with mine, I flipped my wrist to disarm her. It worked. Her blade flew down toward the crowds. I could hear everyone talking but I couldn’t think about it, I didn’t know what she had up her sleeve. I was lucky to keep an eye on her, she pulled out her knife and tried to swing at me. I moved out of the way and put the pommel of my sword into her head, and she collapsed. This is now the second time I have knocked her out.

I turned to the crowd and raised my sword. The crowd then burst out in applause and I saw Artemis smiling again. Then Rick came to me and shouted “Here is your new champion.” I saw my friends clapping and smiling. I also saw something that made me laugh was Jacob and Brian really sad. Then I looked for the mystery man and I saw that he wasn’t there. Oh well I thought. I think everyone is going to have a better time at camp now.
