Trinity's P.O.V.
Earlier this morning, Eric and Keegan had both left to speak with the council. They said that they would be back by noon and it was just about that time.
Eric had told me yesterday that upon returning from the meeting, he would be leaving for Denfold right away and not be back for another 2 and a half weeks.
The news saddened me but I was too shy to voice or even show my mood and opinion on the matter so I had simply smiled at him and wished him a safe journey and return. I remembered that he said his father had died at the claws of a group of rogue Lycans in a mountain raid and I feared that he could have the same fate.
Before bed, Eric had once again walked me to my room for bed and given me a kiss on my cheek and said that he wished to see me today before he left... Of course I agreed.
Walking aimlessly around the halls all morning, as Victoria absolutely refused to leave her room, as she had no Master around to force her out, I happened to glance out of the window to my right.
A huge smile covered my face as I saw 3 people on horseback riding on the road leading up to the palace. Even from this distance I could recognize Keegan in the front with Eric to his right. I couldn't identify the other man though. But I didn't care.
I raced down the halls and stairs, wanting to greet them at the door. Just thinking about seeing Eric again set my heart racing. Clearly I am in love with this man, even though I know I shouldn't be. Nothing more can ever become of the two of us, I understand, but I can still imagine and hope for it.
Before long I was practically flying down the grand main staircase to the front doors below. I was slight surprised to see Arianna walking to the doors already. The last couple of weeks she has been almost avoiding Keegan, which was strange. Now here she stood waiting to welcome him home.
I smiled. She must still really love him. No matter what he did to make her act strangely, she still missed him enough to welcome him back to his warm home.
Slowing myself down, I descended the last few steps and walked up to Lady Arianna's side and curtsied, "Good afternoon, milady."
She only waved me off and said nothing. I guess she just wanted to see her fiancée.
The doors opened and in walked the three men. I instantly recognized the third man to be the Angel Hunter from yesterday at the Church Institute, Derek Radfield.
His eyes saw me first, no emotion was there, and then he saw Arianna and he smirked. I was confused but I couldn't see her face to know what she thought of that look. Or if she even saw it at all.
"Welcome back, everyone!" she welcomed in her charming voice.
I glanced at Keegan and saw he was slightly... confused?
I couldn't focus my mind on it for very long as I suddenly felt another pair of eyes burning into me.
Flicking my eyes up at the large man who just stood to the far side of Keegan opposite the group of me. Eric. My insides melted as ours eyes locked and he showed me a small smile. I returned the smile and felt a small blush rise on my neck and lightly cover my cheeks.
I found myself coming back into the conversation at hand.
"So what was decided?" Arianna asked as if she was somewhat interested in politics.
"Everything that we discussed was approved and we were encouraged to go ahead with the plans as soon as possible and report everything that was happening to them on a regular basis," Keegan informed her.
