Chapter 12: You're All I Need

The day of the ultrasound to find out what I was going to have seemed like it took forever to get here. My mom and Nikki had taken me for my appointment.

"Ms. Graves" a lady called from the door. It was a nurse. "The doctor is ready to see you" she finished.

I don't know why, but I was getting really nervous all of a sudden. Confirming the gender just made all of this seem even more real than what it already was. I took a seat on the chair I needed to sit in while my mom and Nikki took a seat on the little couch that was inside the room. After about 2 minutes of waiting, I heard a knock at the door. In walked my doctor.

"Hi Kat, how are you doing" she said sitting down next to me in her chair and Turing on the monitor.

"I'm good. Just itching to find out already" I said chuckling a bit.

"Looks like you got a little support system today too" she said putting on some gloves. "I'm going to assume you are the father" she starts to finish up saying. "And you are the happy grandmother" she said with a smile on her face. My mom returned the smile back and nodding her head.

"Alright well let's see what little spawn of yours is doing right now" she said putting on the gel and starting to rub the transducer around. The moment we starting hearing a heartbeat, a smile appeared on my face, along with Nikki and my mom. Nikki was now standing right next to me holding my hand as we both watched the monitor. Our baby was defiantly moving around a lot. I could feel it.

"Well I don't see a third leg in her so...congratulations Ms. Graves, you're having a girl" she said looking at me. I squeezed my hand tightly in Nikki's and he pulled me into a hug while I was still laying down. My mom walked over to the other side of me and kissed my forehead.

Once we got home from the doctor, my mom decided to make us lunch. We were back at my place. I haven't seen Ember since the after party and neither has Alice. After the things she said to me, I really didn't even care at this point. The more I didn't see her, the better.

"Got any names in mind, babe" Nikki asks as he starts to snack on some chips.

"Hmm, I actually never really thought about that."

"I want it to be something unique" I continued saying taking a bite out of my sandwich my mom made.

"What about Luna, Luna Beth. That has a nice ring to it" Nikki said.

"I actually really like that, babe" I said smiling and looking over at him.

After eating lunch, I got really sleepy and decided to take a nap. I went to my room to go rest.

Nikki's POV

When Kat went to the room to go rest, it was just her mom and I in the living room watching tv. It was really quiet for a good 5 minutes before I started to speak.

"Hey, I'm going to get going right now. I'm going to meet up with the boys. Can you let Kat know that when she gets up" I ask.

"Yeah, I'll let her know" she said, kind of blowing me off. I brushed it off to the side and left the place. Once I got in my car, I started it up and made my way back to my place. Before I even got home, I heard a voice call my name from the side walk. It was my dealer. He came over to the window.

"I think I got something you might want right now" he said holding a bag and swinging it around. Of course I knew exactly what it was.

"I don't know dude, I'm trying to stop. I've made a promise to my wife" I said.

"Oh wife?? So you're no longer in control of what you want to do now?"

"No. I just don't think it's smart for me to mess with that stuff anymore."
