It's been about 5 years since Nikki and I split. I haven't spoken to him since that night. I decided to move down to Venice. In the span of the time I moved, I opened up my own record store called Divine Eternity Records. Ever since I opened, business has been amazing. I hired Alice to work for me along with a few other people I've slowly become friends with over the past few months.
"Ready to start the day" I ask Alice as I flip over the open side of our sign and unlock the front door.
"I guess. Do I have a choice" she asks rubbing both sides of her head with her eyes shut. Little lightweight had a hangover. I laughed at her as I went to open up the curtains to let the natural sunlight come in.
"So today the band Guns n' Roses are coming in to do a signing for their album. They also are going to perform one song" I said walking back over to her.
"Around what time?"
"They'll be getting here around 2pm, the signing is at 3:30pm and then they'll play after that."
"Oh okay cool. So pretty soon. I'll go get the tables set up with some chairs and everything" she said walking away from the register and to the back. I took her spot and took a seat and turning on the stereo to play some music throughout the store.
The store was pretty busy all day and kids started to show up early. It was now 2pm and I had just hung up the phone. It was Guns n' Roses manager letting me know that they were here in the back.
"Trace, can you and Spencer watch the front? I have to go to the back right now" I said getting up from where I was and heading back.
"Go for it, Kat" Trace answered. I then walked to the back to meet them. The first one out of the limo was Axl, with his manager following right behind.
"You must be Kat" Axl said.
"And you must be Axl" I said with a smile, putting out my hand to shake his.
"Wow, Alan did mention how gorgeous you were" he said grabbing my hand and kissing it. I could feel myself blushing just a bit.
Izzy followed next behind Slash, Steven and then Duff. We all proceeded to walk into the back of the store with their instruments. After everything was all settled and ready for them to perform later on, they went to kick it in the lounge room I had in the back.
"Do any of you guys need anything to drink or eat. We have beer, soda and water in the fridge" I say pointing to it. "I can go next door and pick up some pizza if you guys are hungry" I finished saying. Slash and Izzy got up to go to the fridge and passed out some beers.
"I could go for some pizza" Duff says, as the others agree as well.
Before we all knew it, it was time for the signing to start. Thousands of people were already lined up and ready. I've never seen so many people fill up this place. It instantly brought up a smile to my face. The signing went on longer than what we expected, but somehow got through everyone. Outside in the parking lot is where the guys were going to perform since there's more space. As the roadies started to help set up outside, the guys were back in the lounge room drinking and chilling. Alice and I were back there too, making small talk.
"Hey, Kat. Do you mind if we have some company come in here" Izzy asked leaning into me since I was sitting next to him.
"As long as they aren't hookers, then yes" I said jokingly. Once he got up to go get his company, a familiar face I haven't seen in a while walked in. It was Jake.
