Nikki's POV
Once Kat finished locking up her place, we headed down to my car that was parked down the street a bit. I followed a few steps behind, admiring her. I thought to myself how I lost this girl once before. I could not let that happen again. I wonder if she actually read the note that I wrote her. Maybe that's why she didn't tell me to go away and shut the door in my face. And the necklace. She was wearing the necklace I got her too. I'm really hoping this was a good sign. I don't want to lose her again, even if it means I have to wait longer than I want to be with her again. I just want everything to be good again.
"Where are you parked" she asked turning around.
"Not much farther" I said catching up with her. I was so tempted to grab her hand, but didn't want to push it too far. As soon as we got to my car, I went straight to the passengers side to open the door for her. It's the little things that will count for me later on, right?
"Aw, Nik. Thanks" she said giving me a smile.
"Of course, doll" I replied. I closed the door as soon as she was in and then made my way to my side of the car. Maybe tonight was going to actually turn out good.
Kat's POV
Seeing Nikki tonight definitely surprised me. I didn't expect for him to show up at my door, let alone take me to wherever Mick was telling me about. Maybe all of this was a plan to get Nikki and I together. That would explain the flowers and gift.
As we started to drive away, I decided to turn on the radio. I came across the song Anything, Anything by Dramarama. One of my favorite songs. I turned it up and started to sing.
Okay what is it tonight?
Please just tell me what the hell is wrong
Do you want to eat, do you want to sleep, do you want to drown?
Just settle down, settle down, settle down
I looked over at Nikki, who was now stopped at a red light. He looked over at me. He had the hugest grin on his face. I smiled back at him. Then the light changed.
I'll give you candy, give you diamonds, give you pills
Give you anything you want, hundred dollar bills
I'll even let you watch the shows you want to see
Just marry me, marry me, marry me
I'm so sick of you tonight
You never stay awake when I get home
Is something wrong with me, something wrong with you?
I really wish I knew, wish I knew, wish I knew
I'll give you candy, give you diamonds, give you pills
I'll give you anything you want, hundred dollar bills
I'll even let you watch the shows you want to see
Because you'll marry me, marry me, marry me
Marry me, marry me, marry me
Nikki was now singing along with me to every word of the song, constantly looking over at me. Everything at this very moment seemed perfect. All the problems we had in the past didn't seem to matter.
I was young, I learned a game
When love and happiness were the same
Now I'm older and I don't play
I found out the hardest way
I got wasted, she got mad
Called me names and she called her dad
He got crazy and I did too
Wonder what I did to you?
I gave you candy, gave you diamonds, gave you pills
I'll give you anything you want, hundred dollar bills
I even let you hear the songs I want to sing
I'll give you anything, anything, anything
Anything... anything
As soon as the song finished, we were about five minutes away from where our destination is. Mick wasn't kidding, this place was literally up in the hills. I could see a faint bright light in the distance as we continued to drive up.
Once we got to the spot, Nikki parked his car and turned it off. We sat there for a second in silence. I then pulled out a joint and a lighter.
"Want a hit" I ask his after taking a hit.
"Fuck yeah" he said reaching out and grabbing it out of my hand, proceeding to take a big ass hit.
I watched him as he blew out the smoke, admiring his good looks. Then he looked at me and smiled. I couldn't help but smile back. Then he started to lean into me and I leaned in too. I closed my eyes waiting for what was about to happen, but was rudely interrupted my a loud bang on the back window of the car. It was Tommy. Nikki quickly pulled away and opened his door to get out. I let out a sigh and rolled my eyes. Once I got out the car, someone quickly covered my eyes with there hands.
"What the hell? Who is this" I asked, laughing a bit.
"It's the boogeyman" the voice replied. I automatically recognized the voice to be Mick. I tried to remove his hands off my eyes, but he wouldn't budge.
"No no, I have a surprise for you. You HAVE to have your eyes covered" he continued to say.
"Ugh fineee" I replied trying not to trip on anything as I start to walk.
"Okay, last step" Mick said. I could hear Tommy and Nikki talking and laughing to each other as they approached behind me.
"Alright Vince, take it off" he said.
"Wait what the fuck?! No Vince, don't take it off. I don't want to see that" I replied thinking I was going to see something else I didn't really want to see. I heard additional laughter.
"Naa, I'll save that for Nikki to do for you" Vince replied.
"Haha, very funny" I replied, rolling my eyes even though no one could see me do it.
"Okay, ready Kat" Mick asked. I nodded my head. He removed his hands and I opened my eyes.
