Hiccup's POV:
--------------------This, is Berk.
It's located solemnly on the meridian of amazing!
Dragons used to be a bit of a problem.
But now that we're riding them? The world just got a whole lot bigger.
Most people would stay, but not me, I'm a Viking... I have stubbornness issues.
So now I'm exploring new lands and have discovered so many dragons I can't even decide the first one to tell you about.
Since the defeat of the Red Death. Everything has changed!
I think Astrid's starting to come around.
Life here is incredible! But only for the strong of heart.
Because where most places would have cats or canaries we have... Dragons!
"Hiccup! Your dad wants you.... again." Astrid said flying up to me as I just glided above the village enjoying the fresh air. Jee Astrid is amazing. Yeah she kissed me once....twice.....three times, but that's not the point. It doesn't matter how many times the point is that we are just friends. Like she is actually interested anyway.
"Alright." I sighed knowing what the conversation is going to be about. I landed outside the forge on Toothless. "Yes dad?"
"Finally your here." He chuckled walking over to me.
"To work I'm guessing?" Gobber complained pretending to hit me on the head. I haven't been in the forge that much anymore. I guess Gobber's kind of annoyed by it.
"Sorry got caught up." I responded.
"So son! Ready to start the chief training?" Dad continued. He has been going on about me becoming chief for ages now. I'm eighteen years old. I wanna live first!
"No not really." I reply.
"It's time Hiccup. I was chief at the age of twenty, as all the other chiefs were!" He said pointing to the great hall where the pictures of all the chiefs are hanging on a wall, painted on shields. "That means you have two years!"
"Come on! I was the one who trained the dragons, give a little change to tradition?" I begged.
"Dragons don't change anything son! Now let's start." He said picking up some leather for Gobber. The forge has been completely changed. We still make weapons and stuff but that isn't the most needed thing. Now we make saddles and Gobber even fixes dragon teeth! Dad sat me on a stool. I had no choice. Knowing if I stood up he would usually just sit me back down.
"Please dad, can't we do this later?" I begged.
"So, step one! A chiefs first duty is to his people so, stand up and go help some folk." He said patting me on the back.
"Dad! Please! I don't want to do this. You are going to repeat the 10 steps every week! Can I just live for the next year?"
"Hiccup! Your not a dragon. You are a Viking and the son of a chief too. It means your the next in line!" He spoke.
"I wanna be free! I want to fly!" I shouted. That's when something came into mind.
"Hiccup..." He continued putting his head into his hand but I cut him off.
"I wanna fly!" I shouted again running into the back room where all my drawings and equipment was. I heard Gobber and dad behind me.
"That boy!" Dad complained. I quickly grabbed my pencil and paper. I began to sketch out my idea.
