Chapter 21 - The Great Starve

Hiccup's POV:

"Hiccup, we are out of food. There is nothing left!" Dad told me with concern.

"The fish have disappeared dad. I, I can't find them. They're no where to be seen." I stated.

"Berk is going to starve. There has been no fishing for over two weeks. The last fish we ever got were from your little games in the middle of a thunderstorm." He argued, putting an ice block to his head. "I don't know what's going on." He sighed.

Everything bad is happening. The animals are dying, the crops have stopped growing and the fish have fled. There's nothing left. And I thought we had a food problem a week ago. If we don't find food fast, we are all going to starve.

"Grrrr!" Toothless put his head up from next to the fire. He looked hungry but was deep in another thought. He smelt the air several times before he stood up.

"Dad. We need to do something. You're complaining to me as if it's my fault." I muttered.

"Hiccup! I'm blaming everyone. If we stay on this Thor for saken island we are all as good as dead." He yelled.

"What? You're, you're, you're saying we can't stay on Berk?" I stuttered.

"It's a Chiefs duty to do what is best for his people. We can't stay here Hiccup. I'm sorry." He patted my shoulder. I sighed. I felt my eyes heavy. I walked up to my room where I opened the door. I looked around at all the sketches. All the little carvings I carved into the wood wall. No point now.

"ROOOAAWWWWRRR!" I heard Toothless yell. I quickly raced down stairs to see him gone, the table was tipped over and the fire was put out. Things were broken around the room. I saw the metal pin from his tail on the floor. He pulled it out. That makes it lock. I quickly bashed open the door and saw nothing. There, above me. I see him soaring away. He flies like a bat with a broken wing but he still stays in the air.

"TOOTHLESS!" I yell at the top of my lungs but he doesn't turn around. He keeps flying away. "No." I whisper to myself. Suddenly I heard Astrid.

"NO, NO, NO, NO! AHHHH!" She screamed. I ran down into the village where Stormfly literally whacked her out of the way and flew off. I kneeled down next to her to see her arm bleeding. She must have put up a fight. She put her arms around me and cried into my shoulder. "Hiccup, what's happening?" She sobbed.

"I, I, I don't know." I responded.

"Stormfly, it was like she was possessed. Her eyes weren't her own. She fought her way out of the house, she was going to kill me." She cried. I hugged her tighter. Suddenly Skullcrusher ran through the village. His wing was healed but I could tell it still hurt. He ripped the sling off him and took to the sky. He roared in pain but kept flying. Astrid and I looked up to see all the dragons flying away.

"What's going on?" I sulked. A small terrible terror ran past slowly, trying to take off. It's legs collapsed on itself and the small dragon passed out from hunger. I was going to go and help it but another dragon picked it up in its claws and flew for it.

The dragons left, leaving not a bone nor scale behind. They flew over the ocean, not to be seen by any of us. And they didn't come back.

Okay, I think that's enough tears over one song. To brighten the day again I would like to tell you about a few of my books. They aren't getting many views and I think some of them are actually turning out really well. So if you can, please go have a read and tell me what you think.

- How To Train Your Dragon: The Next Heir (this book is about what happened after Hiccups story. It is actually about his future heir. Okay, it sounds cheesy and I have to admit the first chapter is but once you read it I promise you will love it.

- a real fairy tale (this is based around httyd! It may not sound like it for the first few chapters but it's mostly based around it. I think chapter 5 or so leads into it. If you read it you will understand what I mean. It also has frozen, tangled, ROTG, brave and of course Big Her 6. It isn't a big four or whatever it's called story. It is very different. Just read, it explains everything.)

- Iris - The mermaid tales (okay people, this is my latest book. I BEG THOR! PLEASE READ IT! It sounds cheesy but it is actually turning out a lot better than I thought. I am writing the book about Iris while my friend is writing the book about another character. This mermaid is actually me, literally. Yeah I'm not kidding. My job is being a mermaid. Cool right? Yeah, so throughout the book there are pictures of me and my friend not to mention I have taken the liberty to illustrate everything. Please have a read of this one specific book, I am working really hard on it and I would love to know what you guys think)
