As they gathered plenty of large pieces of fuel wood, twigs and leaves to burn very quickly, Surround the pit with bricks or stones, They ignite the woods.
"Don't look!" She yelled while trying to undress, Lucas just laughed and covered his eyes, but he still slightly peeks.
"I can see your eyes Lucas." She said, he laughed loudly and turn his body to face the other side. "Are you done?" He asked. "Not yet." She said.
Sapphire undresses her self, leaving her pair of black underwear on, she was a little uncomfortable, well it's her first time having a boyfriend.
"Lucas throw me your dry shirt." She ordered, but Lucas whined. "Keep your underwear, i wanna see you with it." He said as he tosses his shirt at her without turning his body to face her.
"Pervert." She muttered.
"I heard that." He smirked to himself, Sapphire just let out a small giggle, and wore his shirt. It was too big for her, but yet so very comfortable.
Sapphire sat right beside him, pulling her oversized shirt down, Lucas looked at her head to toes. "You look so hot in my shirt." He smirked.
"Thank you, you too." she said as they both laughed.
Lucas and Sapphire started laughing telling each other random questions about themselves and answering it one by one.
"Okay, okay.. What is your greatest fear?" Lucas asked, not knowing it's a serious question. "Hmm.. i think maybe.. betrayal." She said.
"How about you?"
"Maybe.. getting left behind." He said sternly, he lay down on the white sands as Sapphire Follows she lies down right beside him.
Looking above the black skies filled with stars, Lucas once believed when he was a kid that stars are fireflies that got stuck up there in the skies.
"I once believed Stars were fireflies that got stuck up there." Lucas chuckled, while pointing up Sapphire did the same.
"Really? I thought i'm the only one." She slightly giggles. "This is all Disney's fault." He laughed showing his white teeth.
He then wrap his arms around her waist. "Sapphire.."
"Hmm.." Sapphire hums in response, she was tired and her eyes slowly closes, but that doesn't mean that she's sleeping, she just wanted to hear his calm voice.
"Why are you here in Italy in the first place?" He asked.
Made Her eyes shot up, her eyes widen she quickly sat up made Lucas quite confused.
"Sapphire.. why?" Lucas asked. "No.. i-it's nothing.." she said, But Lucas noticed a part of her tone is stuttering, nervous and cracking.
"You can tell me anything.."
But sapphire didn't say a single word.
"Please.." He pleased, Oh how bad sapphire wanted to tell everything to him, she gave her trust already, and she doesn't want to keep a secret from him.
"A-A friend of mine. No.. i mean.. i treat her like a friend, but she see's me as.. as a rival." She gulped. "When.. I retired from being a doctor, i work in a cafe in new york, one of my friends.. a boy.. who likes me asked me out to go to Italy with him."
"We went to supramonte."
"Then one night.." she can feel her tears. "That girl who sees me as a rival, pushed me off the cliff, she keep yelling at me in agony, she confesses to me that she likes the boy who was after me, her face grimace seeing me suffer.. i was really traumatized.."
"When everything turned blank I thought i died, and i was worried sick about my brothers, I didn't wanna die yet."
"Then i woke up, seeing two couples, That saved my life, i thank god about what happened, every night I dreamed about her trying to harm my brothers and that just.. that just worried me."
"I would like to go back to New york, but i'm just so scared.. i was so scared that she might hurt me." She wiped her tears, as her voice cracks she keep twiddling her fingers.
Lucas heart aches seeing her paranoid like this. "Is that why you hesitate to jump with me because you were scared that you might die?"
Sapphire nodded.
"But you jumped." He added.
"Because I trust you." She cooed, staring deeply in his eyes, Lucas heart warmed hearing those words coming out of her mouth.
He pulled her closer for a kiss, while cupping her cheeks, as he start kissing her lips passionately.But he let go of her lips and stopped.
"Sapphire.."
"Yeah?" She said between her breath.
"Come to new york with me." He said made her eyes wide open. "Lucas.. what?" She whispered.
"You wanted to see your brothers? Then lets go to New York together." He said made her jaw slightly dropped.
"Lucas i-" Before She could speak Lucas put his index finger on her lips. "I'll teach you how to fight, how to defend yourself.." he said.
"I'll be there with you, You have to changed yourself, you have to show them what a real Romano looks like." He said, made sapphire silently chuckled. "Lucas you don't even know what a Romano looks like."
"I know, i do know.. Your father is the most hard working guy i have ever seen, i was there when i saw him writing books, writing stories, he lived because he wanted your family to have a nice life, he failed so many times but still rise. Now that's a real Romano looks like."
"A real Romano never gives up."
"And no one ever insulted or down graded a Romano, if they did, they will stand up and start something people wasn't expecting."
"And i'll be here to protect you." He said. "But what if.. the-" he cut her off.
"You were my sunshine, my everything, you were the only light that lighten my miserable dark world, let me repay you Sapphire.
"If They try to hurt you, they will taste the wrath of a Fernandez." he paused, still cupping her cheeks.
"Sapphire.." he called in a very low, very sweet and calm tone, that made her gulped but excited at the same time.
"Marry me."
