It had been two days since my session with Mr Ajayi, I had texted Esther immediately but decided to meet her two days after. It was just a day like any other, the house was clean,Food had been prepared, Christy was running around trying to get herself ready for school and Charles was on the bed. That' was a slight change on the normal routine, he would have been almost ready for work.

If I was going to meet Esther, I had to do it when no one would be suspicious of anything, not even my husband. My pregnancy showed very subtle signs which I was thankful for. I was perfectly the same person I was, no morning sickness or nausea. There was a slight increase in appetite both for food and intimacy.

My sexual urges were on the rise and my husband wasn't complaining. On the contrary he was quite too understanding and sensitive.

As I prepared at a turtle's pace, I kept peeking at Charles to see if he would get up from the bed but he seemed to be lying like a log of wood. One thing was certain, he was not sleeping.

He was neither sick nor was he too exhausted from making love last night. I had to find away to get him up and out of the house, the clock was ticking and I had to meet Esther.

I walked over to the bed and tapped Charles. He murmured a little and sat up. Who was he trying to fool? Me

" Quit acting like you were asleep, you've been awake since 5 am and you and know why" I replied with my hands folded

"I was sleeping" He said yawning

Charles, you always snore when you sleep, always. There are certain things you can't just lie about. So tell me why are you here instead of your office? Did something happen at work? " I replied eager to know his reason.

" I just wanted to rest a bit, spend the day with you. Is that a bad thing, I can't remember the last time we spent quality time together, just the two of us" he replied pulling me so that I was locked in his embrace

"I happen to disagree with you husband, the quality times we've spent together resulted to this pregnancy, if I recall properly we spent quality time yesterday and this morning. Charles what is it?"

"shouldn't you be thrilled with this? Or did you have other plans today. I'm very sure I overhead you telling onyi to cover for you at work last night. So you're not going to work today"

"Were you eavesdropping on me?"

"I was not eavesdropping, I just happened to hear, besides eavesdropping is allowed in marriage. I recall you doing the same not too long ago."

"Fine, I'm going to see someone today, my therapist"

"You had a session with your therapist two days ago,the evidence is on your phone.

Mrs Victoria I do hope to hear from you soon, remember to face the storm!
This took me approximately 10 minutes to type, I'm slowly improving with a smiley

" Charles you went through my phone!"

"Yes I did and I don't want you to go see her. She's just lying to you about being in danger and all that why would you believe her?"

Who are we talking about? " I asked

The person who texted you, I know who it is"

"Charles I don't even understand why you would go through my private messages"

"i don't feel comfortable with you reconnecting with your old friends, I don't feel too comfortable around them" This time he appeared concerned

"well you felt quite comfortable around Grace, you sleep walked to her house and spent the night there if I may recall. Besides why should I keep my distance from them, it's not like they did something wrong to me. I can't remember them doing anything to me"

"I'm not saying they are bad, I'm just saying it's dangerous being around them"

"I think danger is your colleague Grace, she seems to like her water just like you do"

"That does not even make sense, the doctor said you need space and time to remember. What you experienced was traumatic seeing them might trigger memories from the past and you might get hurt."

"what do you want me to do? Stand her up? Because I don't intend doing that"

"what if I go with you?" he suggested

"Go with me? Charles I can't go with you. If she had wanted you to come, she would have called you. I think having you there with her might just trigger my memories"

"Victoria it's either I go with you or you don't go at all, I mean it" his countenance backed this statement up

"is that a threat Charles? What is with this over protective act that you're trying to put on. I'm going to the bathroom to have a bath I'd try to ignore the fact that you just went all bossy on me".

As I deliberately had my bath slowly I thought of how to leave the house without Charles. I knew how he could get whenever he sensed something, he followed me to Jude's party and he was likely to follow me to see Esther. The only option would be to dump him somewhere.

I stepped into the room to see Charles already dressed, he had trimmed his beard a little and look handsome. I ignored him and started dressing up.

We left the house together without speaking to each other. He couldn't bear the silence in the car and decided to speak up.
"why are you so stubborn Victoria?"

We're going to the mall, I've decided not to meet her again "

He gave me a smile which I didn't return, there must be a reason why Charles was against this meeting. But I had to play along so that I could escape from him.

I had texted Esther again telling her of the change in location. If I had to meet her at all, it had to be somewhere close where Charles wouldn't be too suspicious.

We got the mall and got ourselves tickets to a movie. I was not interested in the movie but I sat waiting for the just the right time to leave.

Twenty minutes into the movie, I snuck out to meet Esther who I had texted to meet me in the restroom. I had told Charles that I was craving for ice cream. By the time I had gotten into the restroom I was panting. Pregnancy did have some disadvantages.

By the time I resumed breathing at a normal pace, a woman was standing in front of me with a gun pointed straight to my face.

"Hello Vicky!

What was that again about facing a storm?
