Days after Jude made his revelation, I decided to avoid him as much as possible even though I felt he just let me be. He was the boss after all, he could order me into his office anytime he wanted to see me.

A huge part of me was curious as to why I never remembered Jude, if we were intimate as he pointed out. Maybe he was just lying to me, of course everybody saw me as the woman with a blank mind.

There were times that I wanted to ask Charles if I ever had an affair, but I didn't trust him that much to ask him.
What if Charles decides to paint me black and accuse me of infidelity to justify his.

I rolled out of bed, with a slight headache after my thoughts wouldn't stop racing. Charles was curled up into a ball, something he does whenever he feels cold. I scooched over to his side, then wrapped him with a blanket, which he must have unconsciously thrown off from his body.
Sleep was indeed a gift and Charles' quiet snores made wish I could just drift away.

I left the room in search of anything that'll ease my sleeplessness. My intention was to go to the kitchen and then come back, but a noise from Christy's room made me change course.

It sounded like it was a giggle, I had to be sure I wasn't hallucinating out of tiredness so I waited a little, with my ears placed on her door.
The giggle sounded again followed by a male voice.

My whole demeanor changed and all I could think of was how to throw who ever it was out of my house.

My knuckles met the door in a very aggressive manner and within minutes the door was opened.

My lips parted to say something, but the words got stuck when I saw Christy's laptop on her bed. She was watching a movie!

She looked at me confused and all I managed to say was" I was looking for something "

" can I help you? "She asked still perplexed by my actions

" nne it's fine, I'll just go down stairs. Shouldn't you be sleeping it's quite late and you have school tomorrow "

"I tried to, but I couldn't. Mom something has been bothering me" she moved closer to her bed and sat down. She folded her legs in criss cross manner and I sat beside her, hoping to hear what she had to say.

Mom, I don't know if should be telling you this because I know where you stand when it comes to what I'm about to tell you" Christy began

"you can tell me anything baby, trust me. You can"

"Well mom I don't know things have happened in the past which I don't really talk about, Dad told me that so many things were to be kept from you. But honestly I don't know know if I'm doing the right thing by holding it from you.
It's been bothering me, I know I shouldn't interfere with anything because I love how our family is now.
"
" Hey honey, listen to me every thing is fine, just tell me" I  reassured her

"Amara told me that Dad slept with her mom two days before your accident"

She stood up and walked to the door and I didn't even know what to say.
I knew what she revealed to me, but she didn't know that I knew.

Oh!, I mean what!, how could he? "I pretended as much as I could to be filled with rage.

Mom, I know it's really difficult but just talk with Dad, maybe she was lying. I don't want anything to come in between our family"

I nodded and headed to the door but came to a halt when I heard something else.

"I kissed Charles yesterday!"

This time I was really shocked when I turned to face her. "You did what!"

"I know it was really stupid of me, but lately mom my hormones are on fire and I get urges to do stupid things. I thought I really liked Aaron, now I think of Charles and during recess I kissed him. He has been so sad and I wanted to help him, but then he walked out.i think I might have ruined our friendship. Don't be surprised if he decides not to go to school with us anymore "

I couldn't even keep up with her lips as she spoke.
" Christiana! Ọ gịnị n'eme gị? What is wrong with you?.he was sad, so you solve his problems with your lips. You know what we'll talk about this much later, my daughter is definitely not a cat on heat."

Chineke m!

She turned to her bed slowly while I left her room. I couldn't go to the kitchen again so I just went back to my room. Sleep managed to come and after a while I was dozing like Charles.

I got to the office with Abacha and fried fish, Courtesy of Christy. Probably her way of apologizing because Charles didn't ride to school with us.
On one hand it was funny, but on the other hand it was not. My own daughter was definitely not going on kissing spree. Maybe she got that from me and her father. I shook that thought from my mind as my phone rang.

"Vicky, I told you that your father will give all those gifts away. Just yesterday he gave mma chime the phone you gave him. The poor lady has been using broom stick to tap the phone since yesterday. Ọ kwa m gwara gị agwa(ị told You so). Mom narrated

I couldn't help but laugh as I pictured the elderly woman tapping the smart phone with a broom stick.

Mom ended the call with "mind what you give your father!"

I held the smile on my face till I got to the office. My colleagues barely acknowledged my presence but my heart leapt with joy when I saw onyi.

She looked gloomy and barely smiled when she saw me.
I brought out the Abacha and fish, to brighten her up but it didn't work.

"Vicky I'm getting a divorce"

"You are gịnị? What happened?, Did maduka harm you. Why?"

"I'm sick and tired of being unhappy and I found out that he slept with the girl"

I was confused till it rung in my head
"the neighbor's daughter, omg!"

"That's not all, he threatened to make her a second wife. Just imagine" tears were already forming in her eyes and I leaned in to hug her.

"Men are dogs!"

Yes they are" I spoke softly as Jude entered our office.
