Seeing Iain

They pulled up and Ruby opened the doors and they took the lady in "have you been crying?" She asked "no I'm fine" Said ruby taking her into hospital once they had done ruby ran down the steps to change her clothes "Ruby wait" he said running after her "Jack leave me alone!" She cried "what have I done?" He asked "you've done nothing!" She cried running down the steps "why don't you like me?" He asked "I just don't want to work with you Alright?" She cried "no why?" He asked "because I'm hurting I'm hurting and I don't want to work with anybody other than Iain" she cried in the staff room sliding down against the wall crying Jan ran in and held her tightly "Alright, Alright" she said holding her close to her chest "I can't lose him Jan" she cried "your not going to lose him" she said "what if I do?" She was crying uncontrollably now "you won't I promise" she said Ruby cried over her shoulder uncontrollably as Jan just rubbed her back. "I'm sorry" she said wiping her eyes sitting up "it's alright now, why don't we go and see how he is" she smiled wiping her eyes Ruby nodded and stood up with Jan "I'm sorry Jack I didn't mean to snap at you" she said "it's alright" he smiled she nodded and walked off with Jan. Jan stopped "let me just see to Ruby and I'll be down and I'll go out with you" she said he nodded and walked into the staff room and sat on the sofa. Jan walked up the steps with Ruby "I genuinely didn't mean to snap at him" she said "I know you didn't, your not like that" she said "I just want Connie to say to me Iain's going to be alright that's all I want" She said "I know, that's what we all want" she said they walked up into the hospital "i know where he is come on" she smiled Ruby nodded and followed her Jan put her arm around her as they stood outside the curtain Dylan walked over "He's still not awake" he said Ruby looked up at him and nodded "he's going to be okay isn't he?" She asked "honestly Ruby I don't know we will know more if he wakes up" he said Ruby nodded and sat down on the chair Jan walked over to her "I've got to go to work now sweet, are you going to be alright?" She asked ruby nodded "thank you" she said Jan nodded and smiled kissing her head and then walking off. Dylan could see the tears in her eyes and sat down next to her "Can I see him?" She asked "I'm not sure that's the best idea, he's not in a very good state Ruby" he said "if he's not going to make it I need to talk to him please Dylan" she cried he nodded and stood up helping ruby up. He opened the door and walked in Ruby walked in stunned "oh my god" she said tears running down her cheeks she wiped them away and sat down next to Iain. "Are you going to be alright?" He asked she nodded "yeah ill be fine" she smiled as he left. Ruby picked up his hand "Iain I'm here now, I promise I'm here now" she said holding his hand to her face "your going to wake up for me aren't you? Please you've got to otherwise Jans going to make me work with the new boy and I don't think he's taken much of a liking to me" she smiled tears falling down her cheeks. "Iain I love you" she cried "and I really need you to get better for me now" she cried tears falling from her face onto his hand she sat like that for 4 hours until Dylan walked back in "how are you doing ruby?" He asked "better than him I think" she smiled tears still in her eyes "his obs are still the same there's no change in him" said Dylan "that's better than deteriorating right" she smiled Dylan nodded and rubbed her back "of course it is" he smiled walking out again.
6 hours later
Ruby had been sitting with Iain for 10 hours she had her head on the bed, next to him and she was asleep exhausted. Duffy walked in with a bag of her things from Jan and some food and a coffee for her and smiled as she saw her asleep. Ruby woke up when she heard the door shut and rubbed her eyes smiling at Duffy "hi sleepy head" she smiled "is he alright?" She asked Duffy nodded "still stable" she smiled "I actually came about you" she smiled "me?" She asked she nodded passing her a bag "some comfy clothes, some food and drink" she smiled Ruby half smiled "thank you" she said "your welcome, Alicia got them and bought them here for you" she said Ruby stood up with Duffy "let's go and get you out of this uniform" she smiled ruby nodded and Duffy walked with her through to the toilets and stood outside the cubicle she came out with her uniform in the bag "I'm going to take this down to Jan before I forget, I could do with a walk to be honest" she smiled Duffy nodded "I'm doing his obs so I'll keep an eye on him until you get back" she smiled Ruby nodded and walked down the steps. She walked in just as Jan and Jack we're pulling up she walked through to the locker room and put her uniform away. "Do you want a coffee Rubes?" Asked Jan "No I'm okay thanks, I'm going back up now" she smiled "I was just getting changed" she smiled Jan nodded "how is he?" She asked "there's no change" she said Jan pulled her in for a hug "he's going to be alright" she smiled Ruby nodded "I really hope so" she said.
