Jan sat in the station a month later. Ruby lied to Iain told him she had had a scan whilst he was at work but she hadn't she hadn't had any but she had a reason. "Ruby" Said Jan she nodded walking over to her "if your right your knocking up 5 months pregnant" she said Ruby nodded "I know" she said "so you must have a bit of a bump" she said ruby nodded lifting up her T-shirt "oh ruby you've got a little baby in there" she smiled ruby nodded and smiled "so 20 weeks are you going for the scan?" She asked "not right now but I will" she smiled "ruby, Iain said he hadn't been for a scan with you" she said she nodded "he hasn't" she said "why?" She asked "because, because I've not had a scan" she said "12 week?" She asked ruby shook her head "16 week?" She asked "none" she said "oh ruby please tell me you've been monitoring the heartbeat" she said "no" she said "why?" She asked "because until I found out I was pregnant which was quite late I was on a normal dose of medication for anxiety" she said Jan didn't want to bring up her illness "and your worried about defects?" She asked Ruby nodded "exactly" she said standing up "what if I get Elle to do the scan? No one else need know about it" she said Ruby nodded "fine" she said walking off.
An hour later:
Ruby walked up the steps with Jan and she walked over to Elle's office door "come in" she shouted Jan walked in with ruby "hi" smiled Elle "hi" said Jan "I was wondering if I could ask a favour?" She asked "of course" smiled Elle "Ruby's 5 months pregnant, she takes medication for anxiety and she didn't know she was pregnant until not that long ago she's worried about defects" said Jan "it would of shown up on the scan if their were defects sweet" she said "thats why were here she's not had a scan" she said Elle looked worried "ruby why on earth not" she said worried "I was scared I am scared really scared" she cried "Alright Come on" she said standing up and taking her into her arms.
