Back at the station

Ruby and Iain pulled up at the end of their shift "I'm so hungry" Said Ruby walking in with Iain "there's some food in the fridge Rubes" Smiled Jan sitting on the sofa "I'm alright thanks I don't feel too great" she said "ah Rubes you should of said you could of come home" she said "it's alright no big deal" she smiled Jan got up "okay, well I'll be in my office if you need me" she said. 10 minutes later after a glass of water and a cuddle ruby perked up "I'm going to go and talk to Jan" she said Iain nodded "I'll wait here" he smiled she nodded and walked out. She knocked on the office door "come in" Shouted Jan "hi ruby" she smiled "hi" she said "sit down" she smiled she sat down in front of her "Jan I need some advice" she said "advice on what?" She asked looking up at her. "I'm pregnant" she said Jan looked stunned "it wasn't exactly planned but I'm happy and so is Iain" she said "I'm happy for you Ruby I really am" she smiled "thank you, but I can't do this on my own, I know Iain's here but I don't have my mum anymore and I just want to talk to someone who knows what they're talking about because I'm scared, and I feel so rubbish" she said "that rubbish feeling doesn't go away I'm afraid sweet, but as for advice I'm always here for you but believe me I don't think you'll need it your going to be absolutely fine because you are so strong and wonderful and deep down you know what your doing" she smiled "do I?" She asked Jan nodded "when does this sickness go away, I threw up in McDonald's this morning" she said nearly in tears "how far along are you?" She asked "I don't know" she said "when did you find out?" She asked "this morning" she said "have you missed any periods?" She asked Ruby nodded "I didn't want to worry Iain I didn't want to face reality myself, I've missed 3 this will be my 4th" she said Jan looked shocked "Oh ruby you've known for longer than today haven't you" she said she nodded. "Why don't we go and see if we can get you a scan booked in" she said Ruby shook her head "not right now" she said Jan nodded and ruby walked out back to Iain "Ready?" She Smiled he nodded and got up walking off.
