Getting better

Iain was back in bed asleep and Ruby was sitting in the chair next to him with her head on the bed asleep Jan walked in and smiled and covered her up with Iain's paramedic jacket and then walked out again. Ruby woke up an hour later to Iain lying stroking her hair "you know what, I'm going to be going okay, I've decided that I'm going to be okay, I'm going to fight, for us to be together for more picnics like that Ruby because I love you and I don't want to leave you" he smiled she smiled and he kissed her head "I want to live with you, to marry you, to have kids with you because you are my world" he said she smiled tears falling down her face he smiled and wiped them away. "Iain..." "No Ruby no arguments I'm going to get better my heart and my lungs and everything else is going to get better for you" he smiled she burst into tears and he pulled her into his chest and Jan smiled at them "I'll leave you two for a bit give me a shout if you need anything" smiled Jan walking out.
Dylan walked in 2 hours later and looked at his obs "Iain, what's happened?" He asked "what?" He asked "your improving so quickly" he said Ruby smiled "he's going to be alright?" She asked he nodded "at this rate I think he might" he said Ruby smiled and Iain hugged her "I told you didn't I tell you I'm going to get better for you, for us" he said she nodded and wiped away tears of happiness. "I don't know about a lifesaver ruby your bloody magic, everyone needs to get themselves one of you" smiled Dylan walking out ruby laughed and so did Iain "your going to be okay" she smiled he nodded "of course I am" he smiled kissing her head. "Oh Ruby I love you so so much" he smiled she smiled "I love you too" she smiled.
3 hours passed and ruby was asleep in Iain's arms as Jan walked in "how are you feeling?" She asked "pretty brilliant considering I've just been told I'm going to live" he smiled she smiled too "Iain that's amazing but..." "how?" He smiled "Dylan said Ruby was magic he actually said that word for word" he smiled Jan smiled "everyone needs a good old ruby" she smiled Iain nodded "don't they just" he smiled pushing her hair out of her face carefully.
