Talking to Jan

Jan walked back in with a cup of coffee in her hand "what's wrong?" She asked "he's not going to make it" she said looking up at Jan "of course he is" said Jan "no, no he's not, Dylan told me he's got 24 hours max" she cried Jan walked over and put her coffee down "I'm so sorry ruby" she said she nodded "it's not your fault" she said wiping her eyes Iain opened his eyes against Ruby's chest and smiled weakly "hey" he smiled "you are high maintenance aren't you" smiled ruby Iain lifted his arm and wiped the tears running down her cheeks "don't cry I hate seeing you cry" he said "What am I going to do without you?" She asked "Carry on, pretend you never met me" he smiled resting his head on her chest again "I know I'm going to die Ruby" he said she kissed his head "don't say that" she said "please I don't want to hear those words I just want to make these last 24 hours special for you" she smiled he smiled up at her "I don't want to lay in here for those 24 hours let's go and do something" he smiled "Iain sweetheart we can't do much it's not like we can Jet off to Paris" she smiled a bit emotional "just a walk to the park, a little picnic with you" he smiled "let me go and ask Dylan" she smiled "I'll go you two stay here" said Jan standing up "thank you" said Ruby Jan walked out to find Dylan "hi Dylan I was wondering if ruby could take Iain in a wheelchair for a walk to the park next door?" She asked "yeah of course she can, just tell her not to overdo it" he smiled she nodded and walked back into their room with a wheelchair "come on then you" she smiled Ruby smiled "you get him ready to go I'll go and make the best picnic in the world" said Jan ruby nodded and smiled "thank you" she smiled jan left and Ruby helped Iain up sitting him in the wheelchair covering him up with a blanket "I love you" he said looking down to a crouching ruby she smiled "I love you more" she said "come here" he smiled she sat on his lap and he kissed her lips gently "I love you so so much" he said she hugged him gently and he held her close in his arms "I'll always be with you I promise" he said she smiled and tears fell down her face "I don't want to be here if I can't have you" she cried "don't say that Ruby! What I did was stupid so so stupid and I don't need you making the same mistakes" he said she nodded and lent into his shoulder and he rubbed her back as Jan walked in with a basket "go on then Dylan says he wants you back in 2 hours" she said Ruby nodded and stood up Iain holding the basket and ruby pushing him out. They got to the park and ruby lied down and blanket and sat on it, Iain tried to get out "what are you doing?" She asked "sitting with you" he said she stood up and helped him out and he sat down on the blanket he smiled looking up at her and then held out his arms she smiled and Iain sat her between his legs and she lent back into him "I wish it could stay like this forever" she said "me too" he smiled kissing her head and playing with her hair. They are their picnic and watched over the lake Iain lied down and ruby lied down next to him and he wrapped his arms around her and soon enough they had both fallen asleep in the sun. Jan walked out to find them 3 hours after they had left and smiled when she saw them both asleep in one another's arms on the grass she packed the picnic away and sat smiling at them both. It scared her when neither of them were moving she felt Iain's pulse he was fine and Ruby's she was fine too she took a picture and then called Dylan "they're okay I'm with them both they're actually both asleep don't worry they're both alive, honestly Dylan I'll call you if needed" she said he nodded "alright just keep an eye on them" he said shutting off the phone an hour later Iain woke up and smiled at ruby "hi sleepy head" smiled Jan "what are you doing here?" He asked shocked "well seeing as your 2 hours late I thought you might need some assistance but clearly not" she smiled Iain smiled "don't wake her up she's tired" he smiled Jan nodded and Iain closed his eyes again. 10 minutes later Iain was laying looking at Ruby when she woke up "hi" she smiled "Jan came to take us home" he said she frowned and stood up helping Iain into the chair "Iain" she said "mm" he smiled "I don't think your going to die" smiled Jan "what?" He asked "Ruby, she seems to give some of her energy to you, she brightens you up don't tell me she hasn't made you feel better" she smiled Iain nodded "you are right she's made me feel a million dollars again but that doesn't make me any less Ill" he said "no but it gives you the hope to carry on fighting" she smiled Iain smiled "I wish that I could believe you" he smiled "then believe me" Said Jan.
