8. Wakanda Forever

As Rachel and Steve walked out the room Steve now had what would be considered his shield strapped to both arms. It wasn't really a shield, shield. The concept of one wasn't really taken in when making it Rachel supposed.

The two were following T'Challa and Okoye when footsteps behind them made Rachel's head turn around to see Rose there with a sad expression. Steve turned himself around a matter of moments later along with Okoye and T'Challa turning around too. Rachel could only sigh knowing the familiar look.

"Go ahead." Rachel says looking up at Steve. "I'll be there in a bit." Steve nods before smiling at Rose who sent one in return before he, T'Challa and Okoye left.

Turning fully to face Rose, Rachel frowned. Seeing that same look she had seen so many times. The looks she continued to make after discovering Rachel's true job. Fear of loss.

"You don't want me to go, do you?" Rachel figures walking towards Rose with raised eyebrows. Rose could only look up at her sister in worry but she simply nodded in reply. "I'll be back before you know it." Rachel assures before wrapping her arms around Rose. One was cradling her head and the other around her shoulders.

"You said yourself that not everyone's gonna make it." Rose reminds mumbling into Rachel's shoulder before lifting her head up. "What if you don't-?"

"I won't let that bastard kill me." Rachel assures interrupting Rose confidently looking her sister in the eyes. "I won't let him do the same to you either."

"I can look after myself." Rose assures in return frowning.

"I know." Rachel agreed. "But look at me." She continued letting her sister hesitantly out of her grasp. "I've come back barely scratched to you. That's not how it was Rose. Near death. I was surprised I wasn't dead." Rose couldn't help but avert her gaze from as she spoke those words.

"But I don't want that.."

"I know you don't." Rachel responded.

"But after dad... I can't... mum cant lose you too." Rose explains looking back at Rachel who shut her eyes in guilt. "It hit her hard knowing that you were just missing."

"Does she know?" Rachel asked crossing her arms over her chest knowingly.

"About you being alive?" Rose assumes. "Yes. We caught trace of your speed signature about three months ago." She explains as Rachel tilted her head to the side. "But not about you being here now, no." She then countered before looking down at the floor.

"Protect Shuri and Vision." Rachel demands changing the subject.

"But Wanda-"

"She can handle herself just fine." Rachel assures with a smirk as she placed her hands on her hips. "She's the only woman who's managed to take me down in a fight."

"Then I'll be protected by Wanda whilst she's protecting Vision and Shuri alongside me?" Rose assumes crossing her arms over her chest almost offended by the assurance.

"Hey, I haven't seen you train." Rachel defends.

"James and Carter are good fighters." Rose assures. "I'll be fine."

"Don't get cocky." Rachel demands furrowing her eyebrows towards Rose. "Don't, for your sake and mine."

"Okay, I won't." Rose agreed before sighing sadly. "Kick his ass for me." Rose demands bringing her sister in for a second hug which Rachel gladly accepted squeezing her tighter than before.

"I will. Love you Rosey." Rachel says leaving her sister's embrace.

"I love you too Rach." Rose farewelled and with that Rachel took one final good look at Rose before speeding away towards the battlefield in a flash of blue.
