"Laser tag?" Derek questioned raising an eyebrow at his co-agent and friend, Fury as they arrived outside the Blockbuster they had been sent to check out. Shield and the law enforcement had been called to an incident where a woman in a... unique outfit had emerged from the Blockbuster the night before.

"Well that's what the guy said." Fury assures as he stopped the car, his head then turning to face his colleague who sat awkwardly in his seat. "Look, don't start worrying about your family. They'll be fine. As always."

"Will they?" Derek asked turning his head towards Fury with his eyebrows raised questioningly. "The world's getting stranger Fury. I can feel it."

"Let me know when it gets here then." Fury suggested before opening the car door and hopping out before Derek could send a retort his way. Derek could only roll his eyes before following Fury's actions and opened the car door. Stepping out he looked around him to see Coulson, his old friend from high school interviewing the security officer nearby whilst other agents and officers stuck around keeping an eye on the situation.

Grabbing his Shield identification he noticed Fury glancing towards someone. Following his gaze Derek's eyes met a woman. Her blond slightly curled hair hanging just below her shoulders, had pale skin and a grey, silver and green rubber suit on.

"That security guard wasn't wrong." Derek admitted to Fury as they watched the woman talk to someone on the phone attached to he wall.

"Let's go have a chat." Fury suggested before he began to walk over with Coulson following too. The three all walked up to the woman who seemed frustrated as she hung the phone back on its stand. As the three approached she seemed strangely familiar to Derek but shook it off.

Fury once within reach of the woman knocked on the glass window in front of her to gain her attention. The woman looked up for a moment before turning towards Fury with a plain and expectant expression on her face which made Derek's jaw almost drop. He recognised her instantly, her familiar brown eyes looked curiously into Fury's own as he took charge of the situation.

"Carol...?" Derek mummers so quietly to he point that no one but he himself could hear him.

"Excuse me Miss." Fury politely began as he looked down at the woman he wasn't aware Derek already knew. "Do you know anything about a lady blowing a hole through the roof of that Blockbuster over there?" He asked looking Carol up and down memorising her attire after removing his sunglasses from his eyes and tucking them away in his jacket. "Witness said she was dressed for Laser Tag." Carol sighed gently as she looked around her. A small amount of remembrance laced the exhalation as she turned her head behind her for a moment.

"Oh, yeah, I think she went that way." Carol quickly decided pointing behind her before trying to casually walk away from the situation. Fury was quick to stop her by standing in her way which caused Carol to look Fury with a confused look on her face.

"Uh, I'd like to ask you some questions." Fury states confidently as he once more locked eyes with Carol and showed her his Shield badge. Derek wanted to butt in and get Carol to recognise him but interfering now was not an option. Fury was in his zone. "Maybe give me the 4-1-1 on the late night dropbox." He finished with a smile that in a questioning like this was often yet so rare wherever else. "Can I see some identification please?" He then asked kindly yet firmly.

"Vers, Kree Star-Force." Vers introduced with confidence and a sense of authority lacing her tone which made Derek's rather shocked expression turn into one of concern. "We don't carry our identification on 'little cards'." She states in a subtle sassy tone.

"Vers?" Derek repeated softly, it not matching the woman he saw in front of her. Carol, or rather Vers glanced at Derek with curiosity and a sense of familiarity filling her eyes as he said her 'name' yet was interrupted by Fury.
