Bakugo Birthday Special One Shot

(A/N: You can sonsider this chapter a filler yet it's canon to the story in terms of Bakugo's feelings towards (Y/N) currerntly)

"Aha!" Bakugo held the card up in the light, smiling brightly. "It's the limited addition Mega All Might, American version!" He waved the shiny card in the air, smiling cheekily. He looked over at Izuku. "Where'd you get something like this?"

"Actually, (Y/N)-chan helped me with it..." Izuku twiddled his fingers sheepishly. Bakugo chuckled, punching the freckled boy on the shoulder.

"Of course you'd need her help to get anything." Izuku took it as a minor insult but shrugged it off nonetheless, it was his friends birthday anyway. "Anyway, thanks Deku." He nodded before moving onto the second present. Your present. He wouldn't admit it, but regardless of whatever Deku gave, he'd treasure yours more. He had a bit of favouritism when it came to his only two friends at the time, and you were lucky enough to land on Bakugo's extremely good side, and you didn't have to do much to get there. You just had to exist and be confident, and apparently thats what Bakugo loves.

"Here! I saw these at Toys R Us yesterday, and it made me think of you." You shoved a box into Katsuki's arms, which he gladly accepted. He ripped the wrapping paper off mercilessly but stopped once he got to the card board. He shook the box, listening to what's inside. "You know... If you'd open it you wouldn't have to wonder." You giggled.

"Yeah! I know that!" Katsuki huffed, embarrassed. He opened the box, taking what was inside, out. "Whoa!!" It was an All Might action figure that was around the size of his forearm. There was more, there were villains and other pro heroes, but of smaller size, scattered inside the box. "There's so many...!" He gasped, rummaging through all the figures. He took a closer look at the All Might action figure, noticing a button placed on All Mights chest. He pressed it.

"I am here!" Katsuki awed at the sound of the number one heroes voice. He continued to press the button, listening to all of All Mights lines. "Happy Birthday, Katsuki Bakugo!" He gasped after hearing All Might speak his name.

"Wait-!"

"Hehe, yeah, my Dad helped me with that one! And the rest..." You giggled, pointing to the other toys inside the box. "Izuku helped with!" You grinned and stood alongside Izuku who also held a smile. "Well? Do you like them?"

"I fucking love them!" Katsuki gushed, pressing the button a few more times just to hear All Might say his name again.

"Katsuki! Language!" Mitsuki scolded. Katsuki just stuck his tongue out in response. In a fit of joy, he lunged forward and hugged you, but he backed away as quickly as he did.

"C'mon! Let's go play with these in my room." Katsuko chucked the All Might card and figure into the box and prepared to march to his room.

"But your cake-!" Masaru tried to get Katsuki's attention, but you three were already racing upstairs.

You played in Katsuki's room until god knows when. Izuku had to leave at some point so that left you and Katsuki alone, using the action figures you bought for him.

"Die!" Katsuki slammed his All Might figure against one of the toy villains.

"Gah!" You feigned death, collapsing on the comfy, red and black bed. "I've been defeated!" Katsuki chuckled, taking a pillow and slamming it on your face for good measure.

"Stay down villain!" You shrieked and laughed, trying to push the pillow away from your face.

"Haha! Hey!" You sat back up, tired from the imaginative adventures. You two sat in a comfortable silence, trying to catch your breath.

"Your present was way better than Deku's!" Katsuki lied on his bed, holding the figure in his hand in adoration.

"Hey, he put thought into his gift too." You smiled, cleaning up the remaining action figures scattered around you. "And Izuku-kun helped me with some of these."

"Hmm..." He only hummed in response before taking a look at you. You were holding an action figure of your dad in hand. You were admiring all the details, while he admired you. "...Ever wonder what your quirk is gonna be like?" You nodded. "I'm gonna get my quirk soon!" He sat up, grinning. "And when you get yours we can be like...A hero and a side kick. Of course, you'd be my side kick!"

"Yeah right! My quirk is gonna be way stronger than yours!" You boasted, crossing your arms over your chest. "You'll be my side kick instead!"

"No, I want you to stand by my side! Not the other way around dummy!" Katsuki huffed. You rolled your eyes in response.

"We'll see who's quirk is the coolest and then we'll compare."

"Deal!"

Bakugo sat on his bed, scrolling through his social media. He's gotten countless texts from various family members and old 'friends' from middle school. He even got some from his classmates in 1-A in the group chat. Those who wished him well were Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, Iida, Momo, Tsu, Jiro, Uraraka and Deku. There were a few more but he never bothered remembering who did and didn't text him 'Happy Birthday!'. He didn't reply to any of them either.

He opened a chat and scrolled up and down, not that he ever sent anything to you, and you only sent one thing to him, and it was a picture of homework that Iida wanted him to see. There wasn't much to yours and his conversation, it took a maximum of one thumb scroll, either up or down to see all the messages. Sadly, for him, you haven't sent him a genuine text in years.

Not even a happy birthday. To say your guys' relationship was 'rocky' was an understatement. He honestly wished his relationship with you didn't follow the same path as him and Deku. To some extent, it didn't. He held higher respect for you than he did towards Deku, he always had. He wished you held a bit more respect for him too, but it's not like he'll ever ask that.

And it's not like he'll ask for you to wish him a happy birthday either. Yet it was disappointing all together knowing whatever connection he had with you is just completely dead, and he wasn't too sure if it'll ever resurrect ever again. He wished it would, but he knew he wouldn't bother putting the effort into it. All he could do now was reminisce about the past.

His thoughts with you never drove him to anger, more so to disappointment. Though he hated that you were quirk less, he hated more that you were strong. Yet he loved how driven and confident you were, it's the one thing he took from you. You could partially be to blame when it came to his ego, but you were the one of the few who showed him how to be driven, how to stay determined, like All Might. Sadly, his pride drove you away from him and closer to Deku, you no longer stood by his side.

Bakugo sighed, placing his phone on his bed side table before lying back down. This was the most peace he's had, yet it still felt... A little dispiriting.

"Tch..." He glanced over at his drawer, eying the very few figures that he kept from his child hood. One being an All Might figure. He gingerly took the toy into his hands, pressing a button on his chest.

"I am h-here!" The Toy stuttered, having the mic so beaten and broken made the toy a little less appealing to the eye and for the ears to whomever pressed the button. "It is I-I! A-A-All Might!" The mic crackled once more as he continued to press the button. Although there was a horrid drop in quality over the years, the sentimental value stayed the same.

"Happy Birthday, Katsuki Bakugo!" All Might spoke with clarity. Katsuki stared at the figure, no longer feeling dissatisfied. He placed it back carefully on his drawer, making sure it doesn't fall over. He treasured that toy.

Turning off the light, he slipped into his covers and fell asleep, at 8:30 PM. Tomorrow would no longer be his birthday, and maybe all this sentimental crap would fall in deep crevices of his mind, like every other year.

(A/N: Wow that ended on such a sad note, happy birthday to Katsuki tho! I swear they'll get better, I'm saving the best for last ;)))
