The host of the Black Market banged his fist on his desk in his office. The man, also known as Erebus ― named after the Greek God of Darkness― is in his late forties with grayish black hair and dark eyes. He has pale skin and is in his late forties.
“Blast!” said Erebus, shadows covering his face, “We can’t let that experiment get away! It’s too valuable!”
“Do you want us to get it back, Master?” asked one of the guards.
“And let you handle it the way you handled Experiment 666 earlier?” said Erebus, “Not a chance. I’ll let this be handled by someone I know I can trust.” Erebus pressed a button on the bottom of his desk, and immediately he heard the sound of fluttering wings behind the closed door. Next came the sound of two feet landing on the floor, and a girl opened the door.
“You called?” asked the girl.
“Skyler,” said the man. Skyler is a teenage girl about sixteen years old, with black hair and a purple and green strip in her hair on either side. Her eyes are mismatched, one blue and the other purple. She has on a black shirt and jeans with black boots on, along with a hummingbird necklace around her neck.
“A hybrid has managed to escape my headquarters,” explained Erebus, “Could you be a dear and bring it back?”
Skyler nodded, “Don’t worry Erebus. He won’t get away, not on my watch.”
She left the room, and again Erebus can hear the sound of fluttering wings as she left. Experiment 666 won’t escape Erebus’ wrath for long.
Lucian flew in the night sky, trying to find a spot to land and rest for a while. His side ached from the battle with those stupid androids. Not only has that but his head ached to. Finally Lucian spotted a shed in a grassy field, next to a pound. He landed next to the wooden shed, and he slid down to the ground against the wall. Lucian felt a sudden pain in his head, and he yelped in pain as he held it. Blood thirsty whispers kept filling his mind, telling him to kill, to murder. Dark flames circled around him as Lucian tried to get a grip.
“Quiet!” he yelled. The hell fire around him exploded. The fire dimmed when the voices went down. That’s when he heard something, and as he looked up his eyes widened as he saw a ball of electricity heading straight toward Lucian. He quickly jumped to one side, and the shed behind him exploded into a million pieces. The ducks swimming in the pound quacked in surprise and flew away.
Lucian looked, and saw a girl with a Lightning Blaster gun in her hand.
“Who are you?” demanded Lucian.
“Skyler,” said the girl. She pointed her blaster at Lucian, “Make a move, and I’ll waist you.” Lucian raised an eyebrow, “I’m guessing you work for the FCI?”
“That’s classified information, freak,” said Skyler, “Now, stand up and put your hands up where I can see them.”
Lucian slowly put his hands up, “Look, I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Like you even can,” growled Skyler, “Now, surrender or face the consequences.”
“You’re really going to hand me to the FCI?” said Lucian, “Erebus is bad news, girly. He―”
Faster than Lucian can even blink, Skyler ran to him and grabbed his wrist. She flipped him and Lucian landed hard on his back. Skyler then put one boot on his chest. What just happened? No way could have Lucian been taken down so easily.
“Call me that again,” threaten Skyler, “and I’ll make sure I’m the last person you’ll see.”
“That speed,” coughed Lucian, “humans can’t move that fast.”
“Who says I’m human?” asked Skyler.
Lucian took a few seconds to figure out Skyler. Super speed, the way she found him so quickly, the hummingbird necklace . . .
“You’re a hybrid,” said Lucian, “Just like me.”
Skyler stuck a knife at Lucian’s neck, “Don’t you dare spread that lie! I am nothing like you freaks!”
Lucian chuckled, “Oh really? You have super speed, and from the looks of it, super flight to. I’m guessing half hummingbird.”
Skyler glared, “How did you know that?”
“Because you make it obvious,” said Lucian, “Why are you even working for the enemy?”
“The FCI is not the enemy,” growled Skyler, “Erebus protects me. He trains me to help control my powers.”
Lucian laughed, “Man, have they brainwashed you. Look, they’re using you. Once they get a hold of me they’ll sell me off to the highest bidder in the Black Market. Whoever will get a hold of me will use me as a doomsday weapon. You can’t trust the FCI Skyler. They’ll just betray you and turn you as cold as a machine.”
“You’re a liar!” growled Skyler. She grabbed Lucian by the neck and threw him against the tree. Dazed by her surprised strength, Skyler fired another lightning ball with her gun. Lucian went intangible to avoid the blast, but he still got blasted from the explosion. He went flying, and he landed hard on his side. He heard some bones crack on his side, and Lucian yelled in pain as he got knocked out.
Skyler put her blaster on her belt, and she grabbed Lucian by the waist. He’s heavy, but Skyler will manage. She summoned her wings: beautiful hummingbird-like wings, with colors of blue purple and green. Skyler hauled Lucian and she took off, back to the FCI were this freak belongs.
